I know this topic has been dealt with before but I still would like to ask about a lightweight oar. I currently am using standard Sawyers and want something lighter. The Sawyer lights would be good since my rivers are not too tough and not like the rivers you guys run. I do like the feel of wood and fish from a fiberglass DB.
I never hear about the Sawyer composites anymore either and it seems to be just Cataracts...Cataracts....cataracts. What about the Gull ash oar as well? Counterbalancing?
Thanks for any replies!

If the rivers you fish aren't real technical, look at the sawyer lights with the Dynalite blades. They are wood handle and shaft with the non-removable blade. Check out sawyers website for a pic and more info. A buddy got a pair of them for his new DB and they are like rowing with feathers. Almost too light for me. You'll love them.
