Is it strait across from the launch at Pt Defiance? We are gonna fish Pt D in the a.m.,and it's an incoming tide. I've heard that Dalco is better on the incoming tide,so we'll try there first,if I know where to go.
thanks.

Yup, the SW corner of Vashon Is. is Dalco Pt. The point that is on the SE corner of Vashon is Neill Pt.

Pt. Dalco is NE of Pt Defiance. Other good spots are the slag pile and Pt Evans.

Are you going to be mooching or trolling? Trolling there can get you a lot of one-fingered salutes- moochers get grumpy! I would recommend heading more East to Quartermaster Harbor. Start just East of the ferry terminal and follow your way around in the 125-150' contours. Herring should be starting to school for the February/March spawn shortly- not to mention that there is always bait holding in the mouth on the flood.
A B-2 mini squid on 35" of leader or a Sonic Edge 42" behind a Hotspot is definately going to put fish in the boat! There are some good rocky spots to bounce the ball off the bottom. So don't be afraid to "ring the dinner bell!" Let us know how you guys do!!!

Trolling....what's trolling?
We'll be mooching, that's the only way to fish for salmon. laugh

Spawnout,
We'll be in a 15' smokercraft with a 25 yamaha, looks just like yours. If I see ya I'll head over and say hi.

I try not to be cranky, when fishing, but some of the trollers at Pt. Defiance, are just jackasses.
Last time I was down there,we were one of a dozen boats out. A guy in a 23-25' cuddy cabin, trolls past us,within 20' of my boat. I can see in the summer time when there's 500 boats down there, that can happen, but he had the bay to himself, and still had to troll that close. mad Some guys just don't get it.
