I have warn my $400. (sponge) mustang suit 2 times in the rain since it was new and it absorded so much water that the suit tripled in weight and I got soaking wet each time ! I had the store where I purchased it send it back to Mustang Survival for replacement or repair and after a month in their lab was told that it conformed to all mustangs specs and it was returned to me with no repair or work done to it and it still leaks!

Has anybody else had problems with mustangs suits leaking?

I am on my second one in 8 years. It is one of the best things I have invested in, except when it pours !!! I dont care what anyone tells you, they seep through bad !!! But as far as keeping heat in and blocking wind,(running up river), Its the best in the winter. I have puchashed, oversized raingear, to go over it and it works good.
You paid $400.00 for it?? I bought my second one last year, and got it for $318.00, at last years boat show. Good luck !!

RV are'nt those suits supposed to act like a wet suit ? where water is trapped between you and the inside of the suit? ive seen em but never worn one

I have several. They leak through at the precise rate that just starts getting you wet as the day ends. But since you are in your own private sauna you don't really notice. I spray mine once a year or so, and that keeps most of the water out.

Thanks for the info! My outside fabric absorbs rain to the point it is totally drenched within an hour or so of a moderate shower and it's done this since day 1. Did yours do this, or did you waterproof it from day 1?
