The game department says that you have to be at least 1,000 feet downstream from reiter ponds. Is the cable hole in range or out of range from that. Any suggestions woule be appreciated

Anything at all going on up there at the cable hole, or the river at all??? probably not much, its hard to go fishin when there arent any fish, but its harder not to fish even if there is a remote chance of hooking one. Im so addicted

Skywalker,

My response to the fishmaster was just to let him know that the cable hole stretch of river is farther than 1000ft. downstream of the intake creek at Reiter, and therefore is open water. If access to it is restricted (tresspassing) I wouldn't know. I don't fish there. The "join the party" comment was just an assumption on my part that if the access WERE open, chances are it would probably be crowded. smile

Gotcha....

Frankly, given the results so far, I'm thinking that if I even bother to give it a whirl it'll be downstream a few miles. It's not like they're stacking up at the hatchery, and if I'm gonna go home empty handed I'd prefer it be after a day of something approaching solitude. sleep wink

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

If nothing else, you'll get to spend a relatively quiet day enjoying views like this:

skywalker ,just so you know the Red Sign you mentioned is not a boundry marker ,there is one upstream also , they are warnings of dangerous waters to boaters. this was pointed out to me by randy (the local gamewarden) there is no actual boundry markers.

It is very cool once you get there, it is just getting there that is a hassle. Takes me an hour to get home from work frown but it is worth it.

I get off work at 2:30 and can be home by 3:30. I can be on the river by 4:00. During Silver season that lets me fish 4 weekdays for around 2.5 to 3 hours a day after work.

After fishing it is only a 5 minute drive home laugh

lt,

Man, you're not kidding. I drove back from there to Olympia with Osprey last weekend and was shocked at the traffic debacle. It took us longer to get to Renton heading home than it took to get all the way up there in the AM. I-405 was simply BRUTAL.......of course it didn't help that it started to rain and nobody in Washington has ever seen rain before. rolleyes

I guess you don't get to enjoy those fantastic views for free, huh? laugh

"I guess you don't get to enjoy those fantastic views for free, huh?

"Especially if it is after 2:30 on a Sunday and I need to head west on Highway 2. Usually takes me 20 minutes to get to Monroe. With winter skier traffic or summer traffic from who knows what it can easily take an hour. Mrs. Lead Thrower gets a little tired of the wind also, but for the most part I would not trade give it up for anything.

Now if I can only find a job closer to home. Say something along the lines of a professional Steelhead cracker. laugh
