Hey Kids,
Anybody from this board flip their rig on 101 just south of the Elwah last Friday? Kev and I drove past a nasty wreck on that straightaway stretch last Friday night. Looked like an older blue Willie's was being towed by the truck that was rolled over on its top and another rig with a glass boat was also pulled over there. Hope everybody made it out OK. The officers at the scene seemed to have everything under control and it was good to see the sand truck out, even if it was too late for the poor guys who slipped on the black ice.
Sounds like it was a dangerous weekend on 101.
That's a snotty-slick little stretch there under the right conditions. Beware when you're trying to blast out to Forks after work on a Friday night.

ahh yes....the infamous and evil Indian Valley...I am always very very careful when making my wau through that stretch of Hwy 101...between the black ice and patches of the thickest, densest fog around, it is one nasty stretch of 101

I've personally been in a scary one in pretty close to the same spot...damn black ice, almost got taken out by the tow truck that was coming to help..one more reason to go easy on the pedal out there this time of year...
Hope no one was seriously hurt...

Hope those guys are OK. No fish is worth that. Acouple of other bad spots out there is that stretch coming down from PA into "the turn" at the bridge? Miserable little spot. And the other homewrecker is the stretch coming back from Forks heading down that long stretch into Fairholm. Tame as kitty when it's clear, mean as a she bear when there's black ice all the way down. And man, when it's like that you'll need every inch of that mile or more to slow down without jackknifing it and all prayers you can put up while you're heading for the lake. And that could be eternity if you're not careful there this time of year.
Watch your six.

Yeah hope them guys are okay, my buddy rolled his truck near Mcleary a few years ago towing his Willies. Boat came unhooked and survived better than his truck. Mooch, I know that spot near PA well, I was the the turnaround vehicle and was following my buddy, talking to him on the CB......next thing I know I was yelling Oh **** into the mike as I did a 360 into the other lane. Only thing that stopped me from going over the edge was the slight asphalt gutter near the guard rail. I still hate that spot and cringe as I go by. Be careful guys....that Black ice is nasty.

Also watch the apex of the hill before you head down along Crescent.

Fishng1,
Yo! Wish I'd seen this earlier. That roller would be me... few years back now near McCleary. Boat was fine, trailer got fixed, still using the truck.
What I remember most about the spin incident near Morse Creek was looking out the driver side window and seeing that I was being passed by a white chevy- going backwards! Didn't get a look at the expression on your face, but I'll bet it was a bit intense.
Can anybody beat this: Rolled truck completely over at about 5:00am. Had a steelhead in the boat by noon! Truth!
Wouldn't want to do it again though!

Hey Gary, welcome aboard! Had a message on the machine that you had called, have to hit the river soon, eh? That would be Siegel, almost die for a steelhead, just like the rest of us here. Give me a call when you have time. Ng
