I have not been there lately, but I did make it down the skagit today. We got three dollies and very wet. Gonna try and get back up there this weekend. Depending on the weather. eek

I was there about three weeks ago for two days. I didn't do any good but what fish I did see caught were big. While having breakfast at Vedder Crossing a 20LB hatchery fish was weighed. I would give Fred's a call or jump on his website for a report. I know it was a late start this year, but things really picked up fast. I think most of it is just going at the right time. it seems like when I can get away if is always at the end of the right time, but it beats not going at all. One caution, have that pasport or birth certificate at the border. I have been up there several times since the season started and was never asked for my passport, just my drivers license. But this last time I got the third degree and was almost refused admitance into Canada because I didn't have the passport. The guy reluctantly accepted my voters registration card as proof of citizenship.

Good luck!!

Thanks for the info. Is there a river gauge any where?

bri24,
Are you going to skagit or vedder?

river is low, and fishing remains steady with large hatchery fish still coming out (a buddy killed a 19lb doe a couple of days ago). It is still a bit hit and miss, you could have a skunk day or have a little bit better luck and be into 5-10 fish. Middle river downstream seems to be the best bet and it is a "pink worm" year. Worms have been pulling out fish behind guys using roe and sand shrimp on a consistent basis
