Heading down to the Big C to chase some Springers this weekend, just wondering how many other board members are going to be down that way?? Will be down there with Rick68, The Walrus and Directional Finder fishing around the Kalama area Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I'll post a report when we get back.

I'm going to hit the area between Kalama and Longview on Saturday. Probably launch at Kalama and anchor on the Oregon side across from the Cowlitz. Then after the tide change we'll troll the area below the grain elevators.

I'll be down waving Goharley into the spot I should have taken. Last two trips I've waved friends in next to me - they've hit fish, I've gotten skunked. Maybe I just smell bad. Harley, I'll be down there friday afternoon, saturday and sunday. Maybe monday. Talked to Doubletake who was down there today. The water is pretty cloudy, but the two boats he talked to at the ramp each had hit fish. I've got a theory about how to deal with it.

Just found out that my fishing partner can't go until Sunday. So it looks like another day of waiting for me. Guess I'll have to brew beer on Saturday, instead. SH, hope I can find you out there. I'd like to be the one you park in the fish lane. We probably won't get to the launch until about 6 AM, then we'll shoot down river to the anchoring spot. I'm going to brine some herring for trolling after the tide change, too.

Harley, I'll be in the spot, with two fish in the boat, on my second cup of coffee, by the time you get there. My boat is a blue over silver north river inboard, big white cooler with "Silver Hilton" on the back. We'll be sideways to the current, drifting, waving a net. Feel free to pull in along side of it's open. Doubletake said it was pretty muddy today, but the Willamette is clearing, and it should be fine for us by Sunday. Saturday may be iffy, however.

I'm taking my new boat down to Cathlamet Saturday, hopefully to get her all bloody Will get herring blood on it anyway 16 foot Smokercraft Lodge SS with a Yami 25 on it. I'll be trolling herring in the channel from daylight until high tide - good tides this weekend so maybe I'll get lucky
