OK you got me on the lead thing. wink

I am not a full fledge liberal I was just pointing out the fact that money talks and the environment rots.

There is a balance to everything. I don't think the lead does much harm to the environment. Or maybe I am wrong and we should all be throwing Tungston. laugh Once Bush got into office, one of the first things he did was cancel a bill set up by the previous party that protected land along Salmon spawning grounds from being built on. I do believe this affects our environment. From that day on I have not been a big fan of Bush's environmental policies. That is where my comment was coming from.

Hey Lead Thrower,

Ya walked right into that, couldnt help my self in pointing that out.

You stated that lead doesnt do much harm to the environement? Well, maybe not your chunk on the end of your line.
Have you ever witnessed something dying from lead poisoning? This past winter I helped with some Swan banding/colloring and witnessed many poisened birds. The LD/50 (leathal doze) of lead vs. crude.... Lead wins!

Have you ever been to the ANWR ? I have been up close to it, at pump station #1 on the pipeline. That was 10 years ago and there were many safeguards in place at that time. Then we had a very strong environmental adminstration in office, so I bet those safegaurds are ten times more that they were then 10 years ago.

"All of you who dont want them to drill should just take off hiking and the rest of us will sit back and watch nature take a bite out of your backends!"

I love this one.....like nature, by sitting there passively, is doing us a disservice. rolleyes

we get more oil from mexico than the whole middle-east.

why dont one of you conservatives explain this comment from pres. bush " the iraqi oil belongs to the iraqi people" now correct me if im wrong but isnt that the central theme to communism. that everyone owns the natural resources. well if the iraqi oil belongs to the iraqi people, does the US oil belong to the people of the US?

Wonder how much oil is there. I did some quick figuring the other day I came up with 29 years of gas left. Wonder how many years we would get out of ANWR, compared to some gas saving measures now.
