I got a pontoon boat last year, and the one thing I could never figure out was placement of a rod holder. Well, I think I figured it out.

This way I can fish while floating downstream, theoretically hook a fish, place the rod in the holder, row to a safe area, and bring the fish in. Total cost was about $3.50.

Doubles as a urinal as well banana

JK ... Great idea. On my old one I used radiator clamps to clamp a fish-on std. base recepticle to the frame just in front of me ... worked well, but I like yours better!

I guess I mirror Bob's comments. First thing I thought was "what a convenient pisser!"
Nothing like a tandem-duty rod holder.

I really like your method, I usually break mine down between runs. Have you tried running plugs that way. Whith the rod in a side holder my partner complained that the boat moved too much from side to side. This would appear to give the plug a more stable ride downstream. Anyway it sure looks right to me.

I love invention!

I have a cooler with 5 rod holders on it to hold spare rods, spare oar, and net. I also have a gun rack, no foolin', and you can see two little side containers for miscellaneous gear. I'll set her up so you can see what the whole thing really looks like.

As for the comments from the PEE NUT gallery,........ Whatever! wink

Side view.

Rear view. The red gas can is keeping the boat from tilting back.

Front view. Clearly see the gun rack on the left? That beige thing to the right of the shotgun and above the left foot rest is.....a cupholder, of course!
