I have an opportunity to buy a 1992 Trophy with a Merc 150, kicker and it has a cutty cabin. Looks to be in awesome shape and the motor has been kept up. I can get it at $10 K. I've been hearing it is an awesome deal but I want to check with some other folks. I plan on using it in the summer for Ilwaco. It comes with a trailer, downriggers also. Let me know what you think. I might purchase it and resell it after the summer season.

Whats that saying? "if it sounds to good to be true".
I would insist on a sea trial, if they say no, walk away.

I agree with AK, you never know for sure with used boats especially when they are 11 years old. Based on Bayliner quality I would especially give it the once over and do a sea trial. Otherwise you might just be buying somebody's headache.

Its hard to say with a boat. The first one I bought I got lucky. The second one was a piece of crap. My third and current boat I looked for almost a year because there is so much garbage out there. Sounds to good to be true. Who Knows though???

The boat is owned by a friend of mines friend. He is apparently a yuppy who moved and just wants to get rid of it. He has it set up for fishing but only used it a couple of times a year. The rest of the time he would winterize the boat and stick it in his garage. I'm supposed to take a look at it next week. He's holding it because of my friend. Wants to give it to someone who'll appreciate it. We'll see how it goes. If all goes well, I'm sure I won't have problems filling seats. Thanks and any more ifo would be great. Does anyone know what this boat should run for or where I could find out? Thanks.

Steelyman,
I'd check the Nada.com website for starters. Here's the link.

Steelyman,
Even though this is a boat from a friend of a friend, Like AK said, I'd still put that thing in the water before I dumped 10K into it. You never know. Better safe than sorry. If he really wants it sold to someone he knows will appreciate it, I am sure he wouldn't have a problem taking it out for you so you can experience the sure pleasure of the ride!

But if it is in great shape cosmetically, mechanically and structurally I am calling the police, cuz you will be stealing that beauty!

Good luck with it!
