If your talkin drift boat, BC to Mission. Spend a little time up top near the claybanks.

I'm guessing he just means the banks that are made out of clay. They are not rock in other words.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

griz,

He's talking the big clay banks just below Blue Creek. There's a large gravel bar on one side, or you can anchor up on the clay banks side and fish jigs in amongst the boulders.

Mind the sleds that will be dragging bait in that stretch......and don't anchor up in the middle of the river, pull all the way in to shore and get out of the boat to fish.

Good luck.....

griz,
Sorry bout not getting back on this last night, but Dan covered it pretty well along with some excellent advice. You'll see alot of boats anchored there and its an area of tension between the anchored boats and those who are boondoggin. Just be patient and treat others how you'd like to be treated and all should go well.

Griz59,
The real rule should be put the hammer down when you approach other boats. Sleds make less wake when up on plane and rockin' then when tryin' to baby on past you if there headed up river. Goin' down river is another issue....but then again the mighty Cow is sledheadcity. Now for the fishin' report...yesterday 2 for 5 with Fish Jesus and Craven Morehead, didn't even see the claybanks and the crowds that get stuck there. As for which drift, we were between BC and the Mision Bar.
Good luck and tight lines, Jeff laugh laugh

I drifted them just like you would drift bait, yarn, etc. I run my leader a little longer (a little over 4 feet) and thread it down onto the top of the hook with a worm threader/bait threader. I've had tremendous luck fishing it this way as of late. The winter runs liked it even more than the summer runs. When the waters a little murky those steelies just can't seem to resist it. The second fish had it buried so deep in it's throat that I could barely see the eye of the hook. Oh yeah, put a bead above your hook to protect the worm from sliding over the hook.
Good luck
Cuttie

Was down Sat to Tuesday. Went 9 for 15 between BC and Mission. Only did (2) early morning wake ups. Should have done more. Much more productive.
