Well I was supposed to fish area 11 with my cousin on Saturday, when an old freind of mine called me and talked us in to going to the Skok. I think in the near future I will trust what others post when its not fun to fish a certain area. Lets see, the first hole we fished was pretty croweded. People shoulder to shoulder fishing a small hole. I was not surprised to see how many fish were foul hooked. I saw about maybe 8 fish legally caught. Plus theres always that one loud guy on the river telling everyone what to do and how many fish he's hooked into, more like snagged. Plus seeing him get in to a pissing match because a guy raised his rod to close to his face. What do you expected when you're hugging each other. On the other hand I was very impressed how everyone respected others when there were fish on. Plus seeing guys, once they had their one limit, they'd come down and help others release fish or net a legal fish.

Second hole, now I see what what the last post talked about the Indians snagging. Man you think they were trying to put dinner on the table. Its very sad to see when the younger ones are doing it. There was one indicent were this young one was fishing off a 3, 4ft drop off. He snagged a fish and was basically forcing it to himself. Well the fish and his line ended up getting caught up in some brush and he could'nt get his fish up. So an older gentleman, or father came over with a net and tried to net it. No success. So they cut the line and left the fish tangled up in the brush. Now I really see why Indians get such a bad rap. I guess they don't really appreciate what they have. There we hooked into a few legal fish. My buddy and cousin each took a fish home and I lost mind at the last minute before leaving. And of course there was that one guy that had to be in the hole and wouldn't move when fish were being fought. Well that's one river I won't be returning to. I had a close freind once tell me, why fish else where when you have fish in your back door. I think I need to listen to him more often.

I fished Redondo yesterday for a couple hours and got 1 pink saw quite afew pinks caught but didnt see any kings boated. Counted 56 boats fishing there. Talked to a guy at the ramp that said he got 2 kings at three tree on saturday.

I was there on Saturday. Did you see the idiot who bought two salmon from the Indians. I tried to explain that walking out with fishing pole in hand with two fish will get you a ticket for being over your limit. I also told this dude that the Indians snagged these fish and with huge snagg marks on the side he'll get a very high fine. He told me " So, are you a cop"? Wish I was!! Stupid is as Stupid does

Fishaddict, wheres about were ya. Didn't see that happen but agree, wish I was a game warden. It just blows me how hard up people get for a fish and how far they go to get one eek . On the second hole couple of guys hooked in to fish and was giving their poles up to others to fight. Do these guys even read the regs?? shoot .

FR- I expected the combat fishing and been on other rivers with combat fishing, but this was unreal. When you start to fish more rivers you'll understand what I mean. Possible Saturday, I have relatives up from Cali and plan on taking them out on Sunday. I'll call you tomorrow morning.

Fishaddict,
Not true.
Read the reg. again if you have the time.
Its the documentation that counts.
You need a hand written receipt with Tribe I.D. from the seller to make the transaction legal.
I hope you're not deliberately misleading our members with your last post.

How about a white guy with a self-tatoo of a trebble hook and the phrase "Fish On" under the hook on his left shoulder. He did exactly as that; setting the hook at least 5 times per drift and not hitting anything.
Too bad he didn't have as much luck as the Indian kids.

Hell, I snagged fish just reeling my line in. How pathetic is that.

I was on the bank with my LEAGALLY caught fish waiting for my friend to get his. This guy was no more than 20 yards in front of me and he stated out loud that he didnt want to go home without anything and admitted " I cant even snag one" This guy couldnt snag a fish and got frustrated watching the kids across the river pulling salmon out one after another, Everyone in that hole watched him buy the fish and he placed them no more than 10 feet from me as he was leaving. Thats when I tried to warn him. HE DIDNT HAVE A RECEIPT!!! On my post I didnt mentioned he tried to snagg a fish, I stated he bought the fish. If anyone ask you "So, are you a cop" you know there doing something illegal. I was trying to keep him from getting into trouble. How am I trying to mislead anyone!! Were you there????

The hole I was fishing was about a 1/4 mile down river of the bridge by Hunters farm. There is a tree trunk across the river where the kids fish from.

I was about 1/4 mile ( downriver ) of the bridge from Hunters Farm. I caught my fish around 8AM and was the guy passing out black yard to everyone who asked for it. I also tied a few leaders for a some fisherman who were having trouble catching fish. If you were in this hole, that big black net that everyone was using to net there fish was my friends. This week we may be heading down to the Toutle. Last year at this time it was HOT HOT HOT

ERNDOG, THAT MOUTHY GUY WAS CHARLIE, HE USED TO FISH BLUE CREEK FOR YEARS AND I CALLED HIM THE RIVER GENERAL(SELF APPOINTED OF COURSE). HE WAS DRUNK SATURDAY AND HOWLING AT THE SKY. I HAVENT SEEN HIM FOR YEARS. THOUGHT HE WAS IN JAIL OR COMMITTED. HE'S A COWLITZ LOCAL AND A HARD CORE FLOSSER/SNAGGER AND HE HAS CONVINCED HIMSELF HE IS A GOOD FISHERMAN. HE SAID HE WAS COMING BACK THE NEXT MORNING SO I MADE SURE I WENT DOWN RIVER. ON SATURDAY, I WAS ONE OF THE GUYS WHO HANDED OFF MY POLE TO 2 KIDS WHO HAD NEVER CAUGHT A SALMON BEFORE. I KNOW WHAT THE REGS SAY BUT I DONT MIND GIVING SOMEONE A HAND AND I WOULD ARGUE THE POINT WITH ANY WARDEN. ALSO, IT GETS THE AMATURES OUT OF THE HOLE FASTER.

FishAddict,
Sorry, but I just had to ask because you did not mentioned about the documentation thing on your post.
I don't favor any one but it does sound like I am leaning toward the natives a bit.
You know how some people can be very prejudice.
I thought you had an agenda to lead people from not buying fish from the Indians.

I apologize if I had offended your moral values.

Things are cool. I try to be helpful on the rivers but this guy was something else. It was to blatant not to mention it. The Skokomish is one of those rivers that you keep coming back to but once your there you remember why you left it. I'm headed to the Skagit this weekend for HUMPIES!!!! Good luck
