What is with the high price for a Lamiglas?? I recently priced some Northwest Specials and I was surprised that they now sell for $150.00. They have always been between $79.00 thru $99.00 depending where you purchased them. May have to start purchasing G-Loomis or Rogue rods.

I bought a Shimano Convergance 8 1/2 ft med. a couple of years ago. I liked it so much I sold my GL3 and bought another and a Curado reel! They are IM6. Alot of Canadians use them up on the Fraser. I had no problems landing a 33lb, 38lb and a 43lb spring with it. Diawa just came out with an IM7! I saw them at Walmart. Nice rods. $59.00. I'm gonna try one. The Lamis and Loomis are nice rods, but they are over priced and some of the overseas rods are taking a bite out of their market!

Be careful with the northwest specials, lamiglas does'nt warranty them. IMO Berkley IM-7 is a better rod for less money.

2 Years ago I broke a Northwest Special fighting a 6LB silver and purchased another one. Yeterday, I broke another one!!! I have two Certified Pros that I absolutely love. These Northwest Specials are bunk for a price tag of $149.00. I'm lookinging for a good rod for my Curado reel.

last i remember, norwest specials had a 1 year warranty i have a g1000 medium heavy baitcaster as my salmon rod, and a certified pro spin as my steelhead rod. both are excellent. i paid 110 for the g1000 and 140 for the cert pro i'd never buy any other mainstream brand if i wanted quality, i'll always stick to lami or custom a lot of people i know still have their 10-15 year old g1000s and use them quite frequently

My buddy just snaped a lami cert pro on a dumpy in the skagit this weekend, lamis warranty is starting to go down the crapper like loomis and others. Im slowly fasing out my lami's for custom rainshadows and am glad I am doing so. You should definatly check in to rainshadow before shelling out 150 on a rod that is not even warrented for a year. I have a NW Lami that I love. I've leaned on a few steelies and have never had a prob. I'll keep it as my all-purpose casting rod. I got mine at Freddies a couple years ago at about $110. Been plenty happy with it.

last i remember, pretty much every lami above a nw special or g500 has a lifetime warranty, and they're pretty good about replacing snapped rods. i know both my rods have lifetime warranties, did they change in the last year?

No offense fellas but breaking a lami is pretty darn hard to do. I've seen it happen numerous times because of the way guys are holding the rod. I think most of you probably know what I'm saying. Cuttie

Lamiglas are wll made rods in all their rod lines even the cheap ones from overseas. If you break one ( or any rod) on a fish YOU did something wrong. Your line should break before your rod unless it is defective ( extremely uncommon) Any defect in manufacturer will become evident the first time you set up on a snag.. I say this as one who makes blanks for a living. No one has been doing it longer than Lamiglas. They know what they are doing!!!

Don't know what some of you guys are talking about but if you stopped buying the cheap green blanked and made in China lamiglas rods and the G200s...you will get a dang good warranty. Lamiglas does warranty THERE MADE IN WOODLAND WASHINGTON Norwest special rods. Not the cheap 70 dollar ones made in China. Don't believe me...fine, go down there and talk to them bout it. I'm in there lots and I've had to listen to some of them story's. Man...if them rods did not bust...just think of all the new world record fish Fish Eagle XML Casting Rods 64-million modulus. For $140 bucks...pretty much can't get any better. Fish Eagle XML Never busted a lamiglas on a fish or fishing. Dang dog and some *** had to bust mine over his knee. Never lie to them. They can tell.
