I'm a fishing junky. I'm addicted to the slime and smell of the fish, the pull of the fish, and the long waiting preiods. Also I was 15 when first joined the board.

Well, I tried fishing out of Westport 4 times on charter boats - each time trying different methods to avoid sea sickness - and nothing worked. I don't have a boat of my own. Also, I grew up going lake fishing with my dad in a canoe, and although it only flipped once, it came close a lot - especially when he would lean over the side to take a leak. Basically, I like the shore as it is drier, there is less of a chance of puking, it's cheaper, and a lot less of a hassle. But, hey, if anyone has an extra seat and you're headed out on something other than huge swells, let me know.

Many years ago my dad was a BIG guy and his CB handle while out on the salt was fishbelly. I have loved and admired that man for 29 years for teaching me the joys of fishing. We fish together faithfully still today and I consider it a honor to follow in his shoes as #2. thumbs

All the good "hair" names were already taken.

OK, It's just the least offensive of all my nicknames. I do a great harelip after a few drinks. And I used the alternative spelling to be sensitive, for the benifit of the people with the actual phisical afliction. Yeah, right. I was drinking when I registered and spelled it wrong. You happy now. Well, you get what you paid for! :p

The name kinda says it all...!

It started about 12 years ago when I left rifle hunting. It started as a way of getting away from the crowd, then it grew into an addiction!!

It has change my life and my families.

Bow hunting has been and continues to be an education... ever step in the woods, every arrow I balance, every time I choose to pass up a shot because it is just not right... every day!

I love the sport... it is me!

It's one of my favorite cuuthroat flies, and now the name of my boat, which is where a salmon can come and stay, anytime.

At the time , my boat was named "escape pod". I'm thinking of naming the new boat "escape pod II", since my old boat still has the name on it.

Before I decided to start my last business, I had to save some money, and figure out a way to get some cash, so I purchased 2 private camping lots.
I stayed at each lot for 6 mos, and all my friends started calling me Woodsy Wayne.

Lotsa people used to call me Tall Paul or Jeep Man, or Mr. Jeeper...etc..

I am almost 6'6" and one of my Jeeps has 'bout 10" of lift....

"Wow, there goes a tall Jeeper"......lol

I always try an incorporate Jeep into most of my lifestyle, clothes, gear, converstation smile

If you see me out and about, I almost ALWAYS have some sort of Jeep clothing on....HAHAAAAhaA

P.S. I have met a coupla really nice guys on here who have helped nuture and educate me about learning Washington waters. You guys know who you are, sincerely, thank you from the bottom of my heart! (SE, DR)

Talljeeper, over and out smile

P.S.S. Too bad Jeep doesnt make some cool fishin gear, the closest I can get is an Orvis Special Grand Cherokee.....

I'll have to agree on the TallJeeper. Paul is pretty tall and I have met him several times and each time he shows up in a different Jeep vehicle. I think he is on a personal quest to own every type ever made all at one time.

I'm just glad he isn't TallYugoer........but the water proof boots thing at Hoodsport still gives me and Val a good chuckle now and then! laugh

This has to be the best NFR thread yet! beer

My passion for fishing began when I was about 5 years old fishing for cutthroat in the Deschutes River. I eventually graduated to steelhead fishing. Hence, fromcutthroattosteelies...
