I will see you guys this Sunday also. I have already talked to LT and we are meeting at the same place. LT, you can always use those little floats like I do in the small water. I guess you already know about the tuff hook set though. beer

Here is something that also helps a lot in my float fishing. This is not as important when fishing with jigs, but when you are fishing without a jig incorpate a shot pattern between your float and leader. This is especially helpful in slower pools, it keeps the bait ahead of the float and it is more natural in the water. Use bigger shot at the float and gradually go smaller, there is an un limited amount of patterns but the graduated and the bulk shot pattern are the most common. the bulk shot is just putting all your shot at the leader, also put a couple right under the float to keep it cocked. I only use that when fishing a fast current or a deep pocket. When I bulk shot is when holding back the float is really imoportant.

Downtime

Some of the most productive float fishing days I have witnessed were fished as you described.l

I've got a question for you guys. I know center pins are fairly popular in BC, and certain parts of the Great Lakes you are a minority if you aren't fishing one. Is there many people that fish them in the PNW? People have told me that pins aren't really suited for your waters, but people in BC fish them just fine in heavy flows. Is that true? I'm just curious. I have been fishing one for three years and it has become like a bad drug addicition, can't think of anything more fun to fish with. Thanks, Chris.
