Has the bridge at Matheny creek been repaired yet to allow access to the campground?

I spoke with a ranger via telephone yesterday and to his knowledge it was complete. However, he didn't seem to even know what I was talking about. I'd be safe and camp 10 miles away at Kalaloch campground. The sound of the ocean puts me to sleep in 5 seconds.....

When did the bridge go?........last flood?

During the last big event the west side of the road where it joins the bridge deck eroded out. The concrete bride deck and east side were ok.

The road is closed at Sams River, where a bridge is in bad shape.

Uhhh, the park road ENDS at Sams River... no bridge there. Maybe you are thinking of the USFA road bridge WAY up Sams River?

Make that Matheny Creek bridge.

The Queets Road is still closed at Matheny Creek. (Sounds like the ford can be difficult at best.) We have not received an estimate at this time as to when it might be reopened. We received word this afternoon (Friday) of flooding on the North Shore Quinault Road and rain falling on the snow in the mountains...!

Say mikek, you wouldn't be the ranger up there are you? If you are, just wonderin' if anyone is going to clean out the boat launch? The rain tore it up pretty good and will need a 4wd trailer to get around.....
