I have heard some of the best holes are between the fence and dam. Anyone ever get away with sneeking in to fish or talk there way in?

Squater, You can park right at the gate and walk the road all the way to the dam and nobody's going to say SQUAT! Have fun.

Cute charr. But as far as: Originally posted by squating dogfish: I have heard some of the best holes are between the fence and dam. I think that reference is primarily to summers and naytes. Not saying there aren't winters there, but IMHE, brats thin out pretty quick past PKSP. But what the heck, the scenery is nice and the exercise can't hurt. It's gotta be easier than fishing the canyon. Right? P.S. Don't forget to bring along your Dave V. float fishing book with you.

Hi everybody. Have they reopened the headworks? After 9/11 they wouldn't let us past the guard gate and then put up a new fence and gate farther out from the gaurd gate. Has someone been in there recently? I do miss going in there. I suppose since I live minutes away I should go check it out. I was thinking of drifting the green saturday and heard there was problem with a channel change and some downed tree's anyone know for sure what's up? Thanks Bob

Ah ha, I did not realize that they were not letting anyone through at the gate. I have not been up there in the past couple of years. Terrorist, that's it! Now they're screwing up the fishing.

I took my 10' steelheader down the green today and it was no problem but with a drift boat it will be a drag, might want to have 3 in the boat. There is a small yellow sign on a tree above a very fishy looking little hole that says stay right. As soon as you leave the main river it gets real tight at first with some water deep enough to flot at times, also this section had hundereds of chum boiling in it....crossed my mind for a second to hook into one for a free ride down the puddle. Didn't hit any steelies but, talked to one guy that got a summer run. It's still slow. Still had fun taking the steelheader for it's first run though.

I see your still with us!! Ya I made it, got to the take out at 3:00. I had to adjust the seat back so I could get some power to the oars and took me awhile to get the hang of how it handled and I didn't have to work as hard as I was. I kind of bent and spread an oar lock :p . Can you say upgrade? Other wise this baby will get me to any fishable water and I was nice and comfy. On a sadder note, you know the guy next door with the tigers? Well his 2 rotts made it through all the downed trees from the storm and took out 3 of my goats this morning, I ran them off about 3:00am, couldn't get a clean shot at them before they disappeared into the tree's, it was brutal. So I have one very freaked out goat today and it got worse as darkness fell. The spoiled old goat gets a light on tonight

You heard it right! 2 bangel tigers "and" a snow leopard on the back 40. Yes he is legal but not when he first brought them in, he had to build a compound and did it above the county standards so I'm not worried about them anymore, plus the county said no more taking them for a walk since one took off after a dog one day and freaked a lady out when she opened the door to let her dog in. I don't think the county is giving out the permits anymore

Question was -- how to get into the watershed to fish? Several years ago during archery season I shared a 'cool one' with a genuine Tarheel Redneck from Concrete. He told me that he and his 'buds' hired a helicopter to drop them in the watershed to hunt elk and came back at a pre-arranged time a few days later. A real clandestine hunt, no fires etc. He said they scored elk, and hid when the patrols came looking for them..... So how badly do you want to fish those waters??
