Has anyone fished the Puyallup lately? was there this morn and had less than no luck. did not see anybody else doing any better. do you suppose that netting six days a week has anything to do with it? i always see plenty of netted fish on the banks down by the bridge. TIA

The netting six days a week has everything to do with it. But remember, the natives "care" about the salmon. rolleyes

The nets are stretched from bank to bank. Not much chance of any fish getting through.

Sounds like it's about time to return to the "old ways".
Like drifting bales of straw into the nets. Oh the good old days!

The guy that owns a RV campground up on the hill above Sekiu was telling me how he used to do that with his friends on the Green. Any way to get away with it now?

While that idea sounds good now for letting some fish through I wonder if the good ole boys who used to do it realized that the nets continue to fish when they are sunk and hung up on the bottom of the river or wherever they end up. confused

I've seen nets on the Puyallup that were never even pulled in. You can usually find lots of partial nets still attached untill high water takes them who knows where.

A bail of straw you say........... sounds like my bag of tea. smile
