Planning on taking the family down to the Seahawks Exhibition Center on Sat to look over the latest in sleds.

Its the first pure "boat show" we have gone to, but I used to attend the Seattle Sportsmen's Show every year. This year, it seems, that show has been relocated to the Monroe Fairgrounds (better spot, IMO) and will be in late Feb.

For those of you who regularly attend (or display?) the shows, which would be the best for looking at drift boats and sleds?

Who's planning on being at the one this weekend?

Mike

If you want to go to just look at boats go to the boat show. if you want some boats and more tackle go to the sportsman show. If you are looking for a sled or drift boat, look for the 3 rivers marine and tackle sign.

Mike the Seattle show is the biggest show on the west coast. That said, it covers all types of boats. There will be a lot of alum there but you'll see a lot more fiberglass. The 2 sportsmans shows (Puyallup & Monroe) will have a lot of alum builders there. Nothing wrong with going to all 3 shows. Talk to all of the builders, not just the retail salesmen. Boats rarely appreciate in value so get it built exactly as you want it. The alum guys are great at customization. What you see at the show are standard dealer spec configurations. Look at a lot of boats, ask a lot of questions, get advice from the experienced sledders on this board. You could start another topic thread asking "If you were to buy another sled what would you want on it?" The guys on the board aren't shy and would give you some good advice.

Portland Boat is tough to beat.........been to them all........."Most", not all, of the boats you see on the local rivers are built in Orgeon. Plan on 4-8 hrs. if its any where near as large as last year. Tough to ask questions and really look if you are "time short"
