Went after the Lings on Saturday. Hook what I can only guess to be a halibut. It pulled about 300 feet of line before the hook bent out. The first run was really impressive.

Saw a couple caught, we were out off Whidbey.

Went out Saturday afternoon with a couple of kids. Hit the fish haven at Boeing Creek primarily to jig for flounder to use for bait and ended up getting a few rock fish and a couple sub-legal lings.

Headed up to possession bar for the afternoon slack tide and never had a take-down. A friend who was out all day on possession didn't get anything either.

I'd love to hear some reports about big lings just to keep my enthusiasm up for next weekend or maybe a weekday outing!

Fished the Seattle area. Did pretty well. Landed four in the 27-33" range, two on plastics and two on sanddabs. Had a few swings and misses on live bait also that left the telltale teeth marks. Definately a nice day to be on the water.

Got a limit in area 9 on Saturday, and did not get a single fish in the same place Sunday.

I saw a bunch of fish harvested, and I wonder if the area was "cleaned out".

We used whole blue label herring as the bait of choice since I could not locate any live bait at Bud's or Possession bait company.

No lings, but a couple nice cabezon and a quillback. The cabezon were 7 and 9 lbs. My son caught the big one on his Snoopy pole. It was a lot of fun to help him bring in a fish that big on a little pole with 4 lb test. He is quite proud and we're going to eat it tonight.

I got a keeper this last weekend south of Alki. Lots of boats in there - guess its no secret.

I was fishing in about 40-50 feet of water, so when you hook into a rockfish it can be released and still make it. We landed alot of rockfish until we switched to sand dabs for bait.
