I just got back last light (20th) and I found a map of Neah Bay by "Fish 'N Map Co." that had good info on spots there with GPS coordinates right on it. Me and a buddy used that, and were sucessful. We drifted south to north at Twin Peaks and picked up some nice lings, up to 37 inches on big herring, with a spreader bar. Touch bottom and come up about three feet to avoid snags, use about 14 ounces of lead. An area 100-200 yds east of Chibahdehl rocks rises up to about 30 foot, and we found some nice big black rockfish there. A south west to northeast drift in the area by the jetty on the outside with a 1/2 ounce jig head and a white or red/orange curly tail produced rockfish for us too. We didn't fish to the right, but talked to guys that did, and they had nice fish, rock and ling. I was there in a 16 foot Arima, and the water was not smooth, I did fine, even on runs to swiftsure everyday. Good luck

cool, sounds like you did pretty good. how many rockfish did you find? you went to swiftsure in a 16 footer? it doesn't really matter now with halibut closed I guess

An Arima is a pretty seaworthy boat, it is almost 8 foot wide, but we saw Buckets of black Seabass come in from the kelp right around the corner to the left. Run out to the west edge of the little "lake" that the jetty makes there and fish along the Kelp. If you get there at night go to the fish cleaning station, listen and ask questions, most guys will help you out with what to get, how to do it. Another rule of thumb is that if there are 3 boats there, they are catching something! Good luck...

to everyone who helped me out, thanks! we had a great trip, with a couple dozen fish caught, not all keepers, but oh well. alot of the bigger boats did better, I could not get out past tatoosh due to large swells that I was not comfortable with but still caught a couple of keeper lings and several rockcod/ sea bass

We just got back from NB last night. Went up Thursday afternooon. Gas is $2.86 a gal.
We needed a larger fish box. Lots of black sea bass, but never thought we would be throwing back Lings after we had limited on them. Also took 2 cabizon at 10# & one at 13# (damned big fish).
We fished Umatilla Reef Friday & had a ball.
Then fished east of Tatoosh Sat morning , pulled some along the shore on the way back & finished at Sail & Seal rock. Even had a halibut nail a sea bass on the line near the kelp east of Seal rock. Rather pumped the heart rate up when using steelhead gear.
Weather was great, but had a few rain showers Sat, then cleared up & sunny & warm.
