I fished that combat zone a few years ago--why do so many people get so excited about the possibilty of catching a dark hooked-nose fish that a self respecting cat wouldn't eat?

If you go with the right outlook it's funnier than hell. Where else can you see guys across from each other crossing lines while there's 2 fish-on's coming downstream and another one coming up. Talk about a chinese fire drill.

I can't believe the guys that get mad when someone crosses their line. DUH, you're on the Carbon on the opener. These things are going to happen. Just have to have the right attitude before heading down there.

I'll be working but may stop by on Thursday to check it out. I used to hit the opener every year down there just for the entertainment value in it.

Plus it amazes me some of the fish people keep. "It'll smoke up just fine"

God how I hate salmon season

I think I'll stay down river of Voights Creek.

I certainly hope so. Since the Carbon is closed for Salmon upriver of Voights Creek.
As for the rest. If your constitution doesn't allow you to put up with a "little" humanity. Please, do go somewhere else! I for one have learned to tolerate the upside down spinning reel, trout net using, 4.0 hook & 20# line types for just long enough to bang a few so Dan S. can have some eggs to cure this winter.
As for the rest of the season, I'm now moved in to a new place in So. Oregon and have a whole new batch of rivers to get familiar with.

Yup, the opening of the Carbon makes Blue Creek look civilized. You can bet that I'll be there wearing a wife-beater and barn boots.

I'm sure glad Grumpyr will put up with that scene...........and his generous nature keeps me in the eggs.

Love that Carbon fishery...........there's no place I'd rather have Grumpyr fish.

Gonna go out Saturday. Should be good for another 7# of Carbon Berries for Dan to cure. Tell Sue to keep the garage door closed if she doesn't like the smell. Dude, did you check on that Pegasus for me yet, or am I going to have to get Bill to call and "jack em up".

Ya but my cousin, uncles, brothers, sisters, mom stole the wig, without it no berries for LT.

Actually I still have the eggs from that trip. I couldn't believe everyone was just tossing all those good eggs away
