So again how was that post directly personally attacking (by name) any PP board member?

posting an article is not an insult. It is merely presenting a viewpoint for examination. Just because you may disagree with the article doesnt mean it was posted with the intent of insulting you.
You have to ackowledge that at least in this thread Rory has taken the high road and presented his argument without insult whereas you have insulted him outright.
I thouht the article (are we talking about Liberal name calling stoops to new low?) was pointless and from the lamest source imagineable (a web poster...wow thats official) but i was not insulted.
I dunno Aunty, I hate to agree with the bad guys here but you do seem to be calling Rory all sorts of names, and i have yet to see him retaliate with insult.
I think its easier for people to appreciate and consider others viewpoints when the name calling is left out. I realize these issues are very provacative and beleive me Aunty the other side makes me mad as hell, but it serves nothing to argue with insult.

The ACLU fights for people's Constitutional rights, nothing more. Id like to see them fight for the 2nd amend. Never happen. They pick and choose what rights, nothing more. Sorry to get off topic. Dan.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

He does a lot of cut-n-paste with a little graemlin jumping with his hands in the air afterward.
From this, I had gathered that his own thoughts aligned with the writer of the cut-n-pasted article.
But, apparently, that's not the case as the insults in the pices weren't from Rory, because he doesn't engage in that sort of behavior.
Not only that, but when he pastes a link to some Socialist organization and proclaims "Worker of the World Unite", after one of your posts, he isn't calling you a Commie, either.
So, maybe Rory does take the high road by holding in his insults, and I'm just reading things into his posts that aren't really there. I guess when he proclaims his hatred for liberals I shouldn't be offended because I am one, because he didn't name me personally.
Got it.

I dont think name calling ever has its place tho (even tho ive succumbed to its allure myself in moments of anger)..whats the point of calling a fool a fool? they wont hear or understand you anyway?
edit: wow..angus is goin a wee bit bald. happens to the best fo us I reckon.... I'd trade every hair on my body for one eight of his tone.

AM & H2O, Actually, I think RB is an equal opportunity offender, he seems to be able to offend just about everyone here, well , maybe not Elvis but then..........
I saw a T-Shirt a while back that brought RB to mind, it said "Ignorance is not against the law, therefore, you are free to go".

I don't care what you guys say, Team America is one of the funniest movies and best original soundtracks to come out in the last few years--Matt and Trey creatively poke fun at everyone in that movie including the very simple and predictable action movie premise itself. Self deprecating humor can be some of the funniest.

Aunty,
When you say I insult you by posting opinions and/or articles that you don't agree with perhaps you should just scroll past my posts, because open discourse (debate) on politically subjects usually involves listening to/reading alternative viewpoints to your own. I'm a student of history, political junkie and love a good debate--for you to suggest I haven't added my own personal opinion to the mix and have only C&P'd in my 1000+ post is inaccurate to say the least.
If you want to attack my political views or my religious beliefs feel free to do so, but I would hope that you and others would refrain from the personal attacks and childish name calling. When two grown people are having a discussion and one of them goes down to that level it actually tells on lookers more about the person hurling the childish names/insults than it does about the person they're being addressed towards.
Like I've said before I try and be respectful of other board members when addressing them and avoid the personal name calling--politicians and political ideas open season though.
As adults we should be able to disagree without becoming disagreeable.

Support our Troops. Enlist! Why do you think we call him a chickenhawk anyway? He will never put it on the line for his country. Not even for his favorite president GW. All talk! We are talking the biggest, fatest, plump and juiciest Chickenhawk, in the cyber fishing world. Got no respect for cowards like that.

I totally support an amendment banning flag burning. I also think we should have a special congressional committee that decides what other Acts constitute objectionable, unpatriotic behavior that need to be criminalized. I also think that journalists who write articles that villify our nation our its policies during a time of crisis (as defined by our Commander in Chief), should be jailed for some type of treason. I also like the idea of monitoring peoples reading habits. Nobody should have any reason to hide what they read. In fact nobody should be reading anything but the Da Vinci Code, and the Bible.

It was sarcasm. I try and use it lightly. I would prefer people burn the flag if they would only actually read the US Constitution.
First and most important point: You can't damage what our founding fathers brought forth if someone burned a thousand flags. But the second they change the Constitution to prohibit an act of free speech because it offends their sense of 'patriotism', then truly treasonous damage has been done. It is a paradox that too few understand.
I could cut into pieces a million American flags and it would do nothing to diminish the Values and Rights that are symbolized by its colors. But when a reactionary politico takes advantage of a 'crisis' to abolish at any chance those fundamental values and Rights, guaranteed by our Constitution, then he is truly an enemy of not the State, but of the people it should be serving.
Oh, the rancorous roar. Why surely I allude to our mighty leader. How could I level such charges against a Commander in Chief in time of War? Because I reserve that Right under the First Amendment. And Rights mean nothing if one is not able to freely exercise them.
Honestly the flag means nothing. If you took a random group of 10,000 people, stuck them on an island and gave them Ol' Glory you wouldn't have a representative government. You'd have a crowded island with a pretty flag. Haiti, maybe.
Take those same group of people and give them our founding documents, and if they choose to live by those rules and values you'd have La Isla de Americas.

U though I was ghostwriting for Rory? OMG, I can't take him serious no matter what he writes. His favorite movie is Team America. Does he even fish?
