Half my stash just hopped on a plane to Hawaii with my wife and kids. It still looks bigger than that.

FnP, Judging from your avatars alone, I would expect no less! This was a non-alaska year for me...so these are what I have to date that weren't already eaten or smoked!

LOL...I know I sounded like I was bragging..believe me, .I'm not.. I would like to know how much fish an average active fisherman puts away.... And yes...size does matter...in freezers...it is a full size model...

Ha!
I helped Parker move the other day. Crimeny, eggs everywhere, smoked fish, raw fish, mystery fish, and one lone package of frozen peas.

Didn't know that Starfish.... have never seen it in the regs, but never really looked, though. Can you post a reference for the board?

Actually it's not quite as simple as I stated... on page 27 of the regs, you can posess two days limits of game fish such as steelhead. For salmon (food fish), it's two days in any form plus 40 pounds in processed or frozen form.

At the risk of sounding like a pack rat....
2-3 limits of razor clams 200-300 spot prawns 20 lbs of cod filets 150 lbs of salmon 20 lbs of tuna from Mexico 1 deer A wee bit of elk given to me last year
I find its particularly hard to keep up...especially with the salmon catch.
Starfish - its my understanding that possession limits apply when in the field/away from your primary residence.

I talked to some guys in Neah Bay this last summer who were just visited by the game wardens (after they had harrased meof course) They were staying there for the summer and had a brought a freezer and had it full halibut, salmon, etc. They said there ticket for over possesion limit was more than the whole summer trip had cost them.

So tell me about that frozen fish. I went salmon fishing in a serious way this year. Serious for me that is. Spring chinook, fall chinook, and a few coho. My girlfriend bought a vacuum pack machine so we could freeze a bunch. It's nice to have salmon whenever I want it, but I'm such a fish snob, that I feel badly having this frozen fish to eat. I so love fresh salmon to BBQ. The standards of table fare I try to cook are "excellent" and "to die for." The very best I can get to after thawing a BBQing a piece is "good." I mean it's OK, and people who aren't fish snobs think it's great, but most who eat any amount of fish and have any discriminating taste whatever agree that it's nowhere near as good as the fresh BBQ I make during the summer.
Such a dilemma. Good fresh salmon only cost about $15/pound at the market, and the salmon in my freezer probably only cost me about $80 or $90/pound, not counting the boat, which I already had. And now I'm thinking about buying a new kicker motor so I can catch more fish to freeze next summer. Hmmm.
I have had flash frozen, vacuum packed salmon that was about like fresh. I think we need a flash freezing place here in the Puget Sound area.
Sincerely,
Salmo g.

Little Fish-- you may be right... I hadn't previously seen that in the definitions section, they define "Posession Limit" as being the number of daily limits allowed while "in the field or in transit". I haven't been too worried since my four kids all have license tags, so a freezer full of a few hundred pounds of fish isn't too hard to explain, but I always assumed there WAS a limit.
Once salmon or steelhead has been frozen it's destined for the smoker in my house... BBQ is for fresh fish. The exception is walleye or perch, which seem just fine after freezing. So of course there's a pretty good supply of that on hand too.
