The Lamiglas Norwest Special has the exact same blank as the G-1000 series rods. The difference is the componets. The reel seat isn't as good as the G-1000 and the guides on the G-1000 are a step up. Plus, there is one less guide on the NW Special (9 vs. 10).

As I understand it, Lamiglas does not warranty any of their rods for abuse. That doesn't mean they won't replace it if you close your car door on the tip. They can and do, especially if you show up in Woodland with your broken rod in your hand. But they are not obligated to do so for abuse. However, they will honor their warranty, which means they will replace or repair your rod if it's damaged under normal use (e.g., casting, fighting a fish, etc).

As I read the warranty, the NW Special has a lifetime warranty like the rest of the Lamiglas rods.

I just bought a Norwest Special casting rod (N386MHC) last month and it included a "Lamiglas Limited Lifetime Warranty", according to the card that was attached to the handle.

I was recently helping a friend move, and in the tall grass in her back yard, i found a lami nw special casting rod. (8.6) I was elated! My elation turned to despair when I got the thing home and found at least 1 foot of the rod missing from the middle of the the thing, which would explain why it was laying in the grass like so much trash. My question is, can I get a replacement upper half for this rod? It was broken off before the point where it joined the bottom half. How this occurred is beyond me , must have been drunk or stupid, or maybe both, anyways, can anyone help me with any info? It seems like too good of rod to just throw away, so any info would be appreciated. thanks in advance. nook

I would think so,especially if your ever in Woodland, you could bring it in to the factory. They seem to have a lot of spare parts.Should be able to find out with a phone call also.
