Take a look at KING5 Weathernet for Amanda Park. Look at the "historic" rainfall.

Yesterday was 12.20 inches.

http://www.instaweather.com/KING/default.asp?cid=92&id=AMANP

Pretty nice today with just a little rain. So far only 3 1/2 inches. Not bad. (If yer a freakin duck!)

I left the plug (Duh) in the Driftabago Sunday night. Had it hooked up ready to go. When I figured out I wasn't fishing I tried to take the trailer off the Bronco. Wouldn't budge? It was half full of water! Took 15 minutes just to get enough water out so I could move it.

If you are the wiseass doing the Rain Dance, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, please stop!

The rainfall totals are just plain scary....as are the warm temperatures. 60+ degrees in January!??!?!...more or less the warmest (highest high and highest low) January day ever.

And for the first time, it wasn't the poor chum trying to cross the road but a big wild steelhead. Just saw the pictures on ch. 4 and they said they would have the full story regarding the rescue attempt of the stranded fish on the news at 5.

Yeah he did. That poor fish. That was some of the poorest fish handling "skills" that I've seen. At least everyone got to see it on TV.

I'll ruin a good thread with some civil engineering trivia. The United States Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service's 100-year, 24-hour Isopluvial lists a value between 9 and 10 inches for the Amanda Park area. This means our 12+ inch rainfall total exceeded the 100-year storm.

Rain stopped here yesterday, but the dang BAKER River is running at all time highs...I have never sen it flow more than 4000 CFS, and it is running at 20,200 right now, with the level of nearly 12 feet...that is huge for this little river.
