Kent,

Those references were more tongue in cheek than anything else...no offense intended. I apologize if it rubbed you the wrong way...I do not intend any ill will towards you in the least.

Fish on...

Todd- I don't know how you think you came across in your posts about the "so called" experts and the 9 ft. leader guys in the yellow sled, but to alot of us it was a direct slam to "those" guys of which have done as much as anyone in backing our fisheries with their time and money. I think you should really think about how offensive your comments are before you state them. In the snoho coho fishery are some fish lined...no question. But, I have fished with these experts many times in the exact location you are talking about and lined fish or snagged fish are released unharmed and the ones kept are the biters. As RR stated color day to day can make all the difference in getting the biters! I don't know you personally and from what I understand you do many good things for fish and fisheries, however so do your "so called" experts and I will go to bat for them and any time!

Nine foot leaders?

Dick Nite fishing is one of the most effective ways of fishing the Snohomish for Coho.

Let me ask you this.
Why does the color of the spoon make such a big difference when the bite is on? If I was flossing it wouldn't matter would it?

If I were flossing why would I use a $1.79 spoon when I could be doing just as well with a .05 cent hook and a piece of yarn to leave on the bottom of the river instead?

To bad for you and your comments. You and the W.S.C always seemed to like me and Threee Rivers Marine when we were giving out donations for your club.
Kent,

Todd's posts' has nothing to with any WSC viewpoints. We appreciate your's and Three River's previous contributions and hope you will consider to support the organization in the future.
Thanks

I grew up on the Snohomish system and have fished it since I was 5 years old.
I have sat on the banks of the Snohomish with binocs and watch different peoples techniques. 90% of the Coho's caught are flossed or snagged. I have watched people on this board that push the Dick Nites fishing a single or double corky set up. Then come here and post how great they are hitting on DN's.

Dick Nites do work if you know how to do it. Most of the fish actually caught on DN's are not taken when the lure is swinging but rather when it is being reeled in and passes the fishes head.

Oh and if the fish is flossed on accident, who cares.

Sure a Dick Nite will work. I have seen more caught on spinners. Generally the fish that strike are smaller and more agressive.
Take a snorkel and swim through the schools of Coho and it becomes real clear why Flossing is so effective on this river.
