Close, Parker. Try Hole_in_the Arse. \:D

Bucket, next time put that North Kitsap education to work and don't give your password out to begin with.

BTW: I need that contractors discount on my deck materials. I'll fax over a list so you can order it delivered this Friday.

Gosh, I didn’t realize it was national “let’s bash Parker day.” I don’t know Parker, and maybe he really is an ass, but I didn’t find his post out of line at all. Since when isn’t it a legitimate line of inquiry to ask about someone’s use of the BB? Since fishmaster posts requests for fishing information, and his latest post appears to be a complaint, or at least a lament, about the nature and quality of the BB, Parker simply exercised his free will option to look into fishmaster’s history of use of the BB and report the distinction that fishmaster tends to use this medium as a one-way street, and then complains that he doesn’t get the results he wants. In a medium like an internet BB, that’s legitimate game; don’t kill the messenger (Parker). Deal with the message.

MAX;
I wouldn't say I 100% consider people who floss fish snaggers..... Who knows im sure some of the fish i've caught have been flossed too. I do think when you use that for your primary weapon you are in the same class. BUT, i believe your chances of flossin go up HUGE when you have such a long leader. The hook size doesn't matter too much, it can be done w/a 1/0 or a 2. I should take into consideration that at places like barrier dam flossin is a art form, ALMOST everyone uses it. Thats just one of the reasons I stay away.

SOL;
If you want email me your lumber takeoff, I usually get really good deals w/lumber. Last summer when i built my deck it was much cheaper, and better, then home crappo. I can't guarentee anything, but its worth it. Plus they usually deliver.

Now lets quit bashing everybody and go get your fishing stuff for the weekend.

Yea I saw what Parker wrote. It was a little on the *****y side, but honestly it shouldn't have been such a big deal. I didn't find it as offensive as clubbing midget donkeys, or eating baby whales.
I actually wouldn't mind fishing with him sometime.

Honestly Vince, I'm not that bad of a guy....except when I club midget donkeys. I don't, however, eat whale, of any kind!

I'm not above fishing with anyone, I don't know it all, I still learn while on the water, I have a good sense of humor, and in general, just love being out on the water. I'd fish with you any time, any place! Just say the word.

Hey, anyone out there have any reports from the Cowlitz? I was thinking of going fishing this week and my time is limited (2 kids, work, etc). Gotta make it count! Did I mention I have a good sense of humor? ;\)

as i have said all along, i can't stand it when when i foul hook a fish, it takes forever to wrassle the thing in to get my parts back, of course i know "how to" floss but to me its a waste of time, the longer leader it is to increase fish hooked in the mouth after i have felt the same "bite sensation" i get when drifting eggs, i've tried the shorter leaders at blue creek & barrier without too much luck, so until some one gets an underwater camera we are left to speculate on whether its a bullseye! right into a swimming fishes' open mouth or the fish chewed on it...

i can see where if the line went sideways across & into the fishes open mouth & you pulled & the hook gets stuck outside his mouth (but close enough to so call "call it legal") then maybe the dentist theory works but, to say you can consistently drift a corkie INTO the open mouth of a swimming fish is kinda far fetched for me...

on smaller rivers i use 18" to 3' leaders w/eggs or sand shrimp, haven't found the need to go much longer & longer leaders get stuck on the bottom too much...

the only "foul" hooked fish i ever KEPT in my life was the last silver we needed that day in rough water out of westport several years ago, the trailing hook "hooked" barely imbedded behind the bottom part of the gill plate (fell out when the fish was rolling in the net) at some point during the bite or the fight, the front hook when I saw it last, was right by but not stuck in his mouth, i'm thinking it was possibly stuck in there at one point maybe, being barbless it might have fell out once the trailing hook stuck, who knows, in the end i decided that the fish was trying to bite my herring & the wind was getting even worse, so i kept it....

as to the snagger argument, thats been on this been on BB a million times & better left to others...

lastly, i'd like to answer the original question of this post:

June 6, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cowlitz Fish Report

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During the past week, Tacoma Power and Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife employees recovered 247 spring chinook adults, 44 jacks and 13 steelhead during three days of separator operations at Tacoma Power’s Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery.

Tacoma Power employees released 123 spring chinook adults, 31 jacks into the upper Cowlitz River at the Lake Scanewa Day Use area above Cowlitz Falls Dam during the week. In addition, 21 spring chinook adults were released into the upper Cowlitz River in Packwood. .

During the week Tacoma Power employees recycled 13 steelhead adults downstream to the Massey Bar boat launch on the Cowlitz River.

River flows at Mayfield Dam are currently at 4,540 cubic feet per second on Monday, June 6. Flows will be increased for a 12-hour period during the day on Tuesday, June 7 for downstream juvenile fish migration. Flows will be reduced to approximately 4,500 cubic feet per second after Tuesday.

Water visibility at Mayfield Dam is 11 feet. Flows may change at any time so boaters and anglers should remain alert for this possibility.
