I’m planning a bachelor party for a friend, and we’re going to have 7 guys out in Sequim to fish this summer (early August.) I was wondering if someone could recommend a good guided charter option. Some of us have pretty bad luck, so I think a good guide will be key.

The guide will be easy, getting the strippers on board might present a problem.....

Venture Charters has been operating out of John Wayne Marina for halibut. Usually runs 6 or less for halibut but apparently can handle more.

I would recomend Tyee charters, (206) 280-7159. Salmon, Halibut, and other critters.

Folks coming into the store that have fished with them for halibut said they run a good ship.

If Salmon University fishes Port Townsend/Mid Channel Bank, that may be an option to consider. Their new boat looks liek the dream boat.

Have a great Bachelor Party. Last year I put one together that was simple, but a blast. Pick up a couple nice fish for the BBQ, set the crab pots and played poker/smoked cigars and BS for 2 nights. Heaven Sequim has a decent casino too.

We finally settled on Big Salmon, and their boat the windsong. Salmon University is no longer offering charters, and Venture was only in the Seattle area at that time. Thanks for all of the advice, and I’ll post a report when we get back in August.
