I did a search on this and found that although other people have asked for advice on guides, many of the responses have asked the original poster to be specific, so here goes:

I'd like recommendations for guides on the Lewis and/or Kalama. I do NOT have a lot of experience or knowledge, and want to learn. I'm currently a gear guy, so I'm not looking for a fly guide. I would eventually like to get into the fly game, but I'm not there yet.

I live near these rivers and am interested in learning how to fish them rather than continuing to bungle around like an idiot without ever catching anything \:\) That's getting old. I am happy to C&R and would like to target steelhead, salmon, and trout.

So, suggestions?

Thanks in advance--I've gained a lot of knowledge from this board and look forward to the day when I know enough to contribute to others!

Yeah, but does he toss bugs? The guy is lookin' for a bug chuckin' dude. I didn't think FH5 would stoop that low. ;\) (JK)

I know what guide I am *not* recommending, after the recent crap I received over that last report.

I'd recommend Stlhdr1, but his only "fly" is the UEC Fly.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

I bet fh5 could toss bugs if he had to.

He could probably just pry one out of the egg goo on his boat. \:D

Oh, man.............that hurts. \:D

My buddy claims I'm always "fly" fishing............I just use a really big strike indicator (Turbomaster), and a weighted fly ( aka Jig ).

And if you think THAT'S bad...........last weekend I was fly fishing for bass. No kidding. What the hell's wrong with me?

Thanks for the suggestions everybody! I have a few people to contact, so hopefully I can begin my education soon.

And one day, I plan to make it to the OP and fish with Bob! \:\)
