H2H ... Only in the afternoon of third week of the month within two weeks of a new moon and only after a six inch rise in the river follwing the alignment of at least 6 or the planets in the Solar System and success rates double if I pass on both coffee and costco chocolate chip muffins on the same day ... pretty much an impossibility ;\)

You forgot this part, Bob: You lose the damn fish because its been so long since the last one you hooked on a fly you stand there stunned, looking at your bucking rod like a free stack of 1000 dollar bills and forget to set the hook. \:\(

Fly fishing for steelhead is like picking up wet dog crap with chop sticks.

You folks are just using the wrong fly.

UEC Fly! I swear by it! ;\)

Or, even better, the Pentac fly.

Or, even better than better, would be the ConeHead Fly!

To the untrained eye, you'd swear that was either a glorp of eggs, a spoon, or a pink worm!

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

That's because you figured out that it's easier with two hands than it is with chopsticks. \:D ;\)

Man that brings back memories of my neighbor when I lived in Tokyo......they had the "pick up your dog's shiat" laws way before we did, and she had these GIANT chopsticks she used to deftly pluck his little Twix bars off the ground and stick them in a bag........

Sol, some day you gotta get a steelie on a dry fly.......now THAT is some fun stuff...totally friggin' COOL!!!!!! \:D It doesn't happen every day for sure.....but when it does....hell yeah!!

....but sometimes it happens twice in 20 minutes. The following fish couldn't resist a Turk's Tarantula riffle-hitched through this flat...the second fish threw the hook in an amazing starburst display. Leland is one of the best dry fly steelie vacums I know.

Seeee Sol...if you knew what you were doing, that could be you. :p

there is actually a mild resemblence (I didnt meet her in AK...she is just from up there)...but my 'friskyness' is attributed to the fact that I need a break from preparing for 2 days of instructing total newbies how to pick up wet dog crap with 12'-15' long chop sticks on the Deschutes. Atleast I will be able to follow it up with a couple days of picking up wet dog crap with chopsticks on my own.

micro-
that isn't one of my ties. I believe it is one of Leland's or it may be commercialy tied.

I love you fly fishermen. You sweep the top of the water column clean of the four pounders so I can come in behind you with Mr. Pentac and take the gold. You guys always have the same look on your face afterward, too. :p
