I know I am not the only one here who fishes 2-4 days a week. How about posting some reports? Even sucky reports help. I do appreciate even the reports where all thats happened were a few shakers coming loose.
I'd like to see some new guys posting reports. I'm willing to share with you.
So whats happening at Hoodsport? Anybody out in Quilicene Bay? What about Capitol Lake/Deschutes kings? Anybody try the Green after I reported chromers in thin water? What about boaters in the Great Bend? Gotta be good numbers of coho out there. Was the Cowlitz a total bust, and any coho showing up/biting? What about the Elochoman? Its got a history of putting out 50+ fall kings on a rare occasion.
I'm not asking for directions to your fav secret spot. Just some general info on popular fisheries.
And by the time I read about it on the WDFW Weekender report its week old news.

Thanks a ton to those who have already posted some reports.

Vince

Hit the Cow yesterday with my mom & uncle, we went 1 for 3, all summer steelhead, 1 hit a jig the other 2 hit an M2-sp Flatfish, the 1 we managed to get to the boat was dark and released the other 2 were in good shape and would have went in the box if we could have kept them on. Saw 4 or 5 other steelhead caught, did not see or hear of any salmon.

Hey Vince, I fished the Skok all last week and did very well on the chromer silvers. Been keepin an eye out for you and micro. Being a relatively new PP member, I'm still trying to kind of work my way into the mix. Planning a trip for Tues. that will involve Possession and PNP. Hope to have a good report for all the weekend warriors gearing up for the mayhem. I have a 19' Arima Sea Ranger with a blue stripe. Just give a holler for Tye if you see me out there......Tye

Fished Willapa Friday, two takedowns, one king 12 pounds. It has slowed up there, nets go in Sunday at 6 p.m. anyway.

No fishn for me... bought a new boat a few weeks back and have been working like mad to get it set up before school started again. Finally have all the new components and am in the process of putting it back together. Did hit the sky last week to play with some humpys on the noodle rod but thats about it in the last month or so. Think I started fishing too hard too early this year. After dumping a lot of money into gas and bait I got frustrated and decided it was time to break for a while. The "bug" should get me just in time for winter runs and some blackmouth action out in the sound. Good to here someone has been having good luck though!!!!

Picked up one small shaker around Gig Harbor this morning (released)...saw a silver caught in front of the girl scout camp...I picked up a nice 7-8 lb hatchery male silver (chrome w/ a slight hook starting) at the slag pile on herring...had a bump at 83'...decided to check my bait and the fish hit 3 times on the retrieve before the hook up 12' off the back of the boat on the prop wash. Watched the last strike, set the hook, 3 jumps, netted him all in eye sight. Cool.

Pretty skinny out here in area 10. Fished Jeff Head to no avail. Ditto West Point & Meadow Point. Talked to the checker. Averaging less than one fish/boat, but talked to two guys who caught 2 coho (5 & 9 lbs.) on cut plugs.

I haven't been fishing much lately. I've worked all but one day since 9-1 \:\( .

I spent that morning at Picnic Pt. slinging the bug rod. Went 0 for 5.

When I work a lot like this I need to run my dog a bit more then usual (or else she'll drive me bananas) so I've been spending most of what little free time I've had Grouse hunting. We have yet to see a Grouse, in about 6 or 7 hours, but the pup don't seem to care much.

Fished Gig Harbor this morning from about 5:45 til 1:00. I had one decent hit and a few other small bumps but that was it. Saw one small silver caught (~3-4 lbs). In the next couple days the morning high will be right at sunup so that should help. Was hoping the 11:00 low would produce but I was wrong. Not the first time thinking that. It's amazing how I fished for 7 hours and every minute I was thinking it was going to happen. Oh well, that's fishing. Nice morning but no fish. Oh yeah, tons of bait at first light and they showed up again right at the low.

Fished Possession Pt. today lotta boats very few caught. At the 11:00 am slack I got slamed by a nice 9lb Silver, as we kicked it in neutral to fight it a nice 6lb humpy hit the wifes line. Got them both in the boat and saw no more action. The checker at Everett that checked us said at that point she checked 65 boats with 20 fish counting ours.

Fly fished a Area 9 beach today from 6:30 till 2:00. Hooked 5 silvers and landed 4. Three of the fish were in the 6-7lb range as well as the fish I lost. The other fish was a small 3 lber.
Seems some better fish are showing off the beaches.

Fished "kill scene" bay today. LOTS of snaggers, not as many fish. Last weekend was great. I think I'm done with it for the year. Usuallly I can only handle one or two trips there a season. They could fund the entire WDFW for a year by writing tickets for snagging there!

3 of us fished the Cowlitz below the Toutle today. Got a lesson from a co-worker in driving my boat so he could fish divers. I also tossed a jig in the frog water. Net result was one jack chinook to a friend's rod. It gave me an appreciation of those guides who can set up 4 client rods and drive their boat all at the same time.

Sincerely,

Salmo g.

Fished the Samish today. Saw fish caught and a few being carried out from up river. On a scale of 1 to 10 for this time of year I'd say it was a 6. Was told it was pretty slow most of the week.

Humbling experience isn't it? I know the feeling.

Hit the Pukeallup this evening right below the Stuck. Water looks AWESOME, but the fishing is SLOW compared to a week ago. Still some humpies coming in and seen a few silvers but alot slower than last week.

May as well stay home now. ;\)

Fished Willapa today......pretty darn slow. We landed one king about 15lbs and missed two others for three rods. Didn't see much except for a few coho for most of the morning. There was a short bite just after high slack that died almost as quick as it started, saw 4 other kings boated around us in about 20 minutes then it shut off again. Nothing like last week but at least the weather was great.
