Fished West Point, North end of Vashon, and off Alki on 10/1, and my friend hooks up and brings to the boat a nice 20-25 lb King! Never seen a local fish that late before.
He also caught a 7 lb silver, and had a couple of other good hits. I got nada. All fish were at 50 feet of cable on a hootchie.
For those who will undoubtedly ask -- the King was released and swam off.

50 feet of cable out on the DR, with a blue hootchie/flasher. Straight out from West Point.

Hit West Pt on 10/6 and hit three nice kings ~15,12, and 8. Unfortunatly, no coho. The first at 30ft and the other two at 60ft on the rigger.
There were also a gazillion 8-12" blackmouth around, could hardly keep the gear in the water without having a little shaker on the line.
Is it normal to be getting kings this time of year? The first two seem a little big to be blackmouth.
Any chance they're still going to be around when it opens up on the 16th?

Wow, nice pics Bossman. The top two look like BM, but then again I'm not an expert.
I fished today (Saturday) and picked up a hen coho at 75' with a plug cut herring and flasher plus numerous little BM and resident coho. Missed one other takedown.
Just curious...what color/name is the hootchy in the center picture. It looks like a good one.

The fist two were caught on a green GSB (Grand Slam Bucktail) and the last one on an army truck hootchie. I had another good release on the GSB that didn't stick and lost another good fish after a couple headshakes on the army truck hootchie.
