I would like to offer support for the huge Alaskan king posted by vhawk. I remember being stunned when the Doc posted that series of pics. I think I recall the Doc saying that the fish looked especially large in the photo, compared to his memory but I don't even care. That fish is scary! It looks like something you should run from rather than chase after... well almost. The perma-grin and droopy eye visible just above the sunglasses are sure signs of either glaucoma medication or that "this must be heaven" feeling.

Not sure who took this Stam shot, but it beats those other two hands down:

Some really nice photos, folks. Glad I'm not judging. \:\)

Here is the clear winner. I don't know who took it, but the subject composition and lighting are spectacular. \:D

Ok, shots with puppies in them should be banned! Oh and the Claire Christmas shot is a great shot. One of the best big fish shots I've seen.

It would really help if you posted who the picture belongs to, you or another member. also maybe post the URL or some way for me to catch the URL so I can repost the 10 nominees.

Also anybody know anybody over at STS? It would be cool if they got their pic printed somewhere in the mag. Just a thought. After all, Amato is the master of publishing fish porn in color.

I'm still looking for a particular pic that was posted recently. It was of a coho buck lying on wet cobble, partially in the water. It had beautiful red hues on its flanks. The member apologized for posting a fish that wasn't chrome. I really liked that picture. Anybody help me find it? Fish don't have to be chrome to be beautiful.

The criteria aren't hard and fast. The biggest rule might be that the pic should make a person feel flush, maybe have palpatations, get a lil dizzy the first time they see it. Basically it should evoke some emotion. An "Oh WOW". Almost all of the pics posted meet this.

If anybody wants help with photoshop there are a few guys here who are digi masters. Just ask. I use photo shop but I still have to use my reference books alot. Photo shop CS can get complicated quick. It makes my head hurt.

Photoshop still can't help sucky ass pics. They have to be good to start with. But editing red eyes, and using the fill flash tools, and other stuff like that is encouraged.

And I see some freakin awesome pics so far. Makes my eyes water up.

Sol,

I'm only picking out the top 10. I'll repost the top 10 pics I think meet certain criteria. After that it'll be an open poll. Top votes win. So yes in effect you are judging the winner.

GL

Breaktime on the Zipperlip has a spot reserved in the top ten. I would pay money for some of those shots poster sized.

Bob's "Mystic Buck" definitely took my breath away! I would pay money for that! We should take these and put them together in a calendar.
