On July 22, 2006 my family experienced the worst kind of tragedy. My 11 year old neice Jasmine drown during a float trip on the Yakima river. When my sister and brother-in-law were trying desperately to save little J, some fisherman in a couple of boats came to their aid. Luckily they had cell phones to get a hold of the authorities. These fine men also took turns giving Jasmine cpr until help arrived. When the sheriff's boat transported my sister and neice to a waiting ambulance one of the fisherman grabbed the oars and rowed his guts out to get Jasmine's dad and friend to a launch for a ride into town. Unfortunately Jasmine passed away that night but I would certainly like to pass on a message of gratitude for everyone's efforts. If there is any way to contact these gentleman or at least pass on my family's sincerest appreciation I would be forever grateful. If by some chance any of you are on the Yakima river next July 22nd I will be on the water.........Happy fishing and thanks again, Pete

I'm really sorry for your family's loss. Even though this is posted in the right spot, I would consider moving it over to the Northwest Fishing Forum. I think you will have a much better chance of someone seeing it that can help you out. There are hundreds viewing that forum at any given time compared to the handful here. I'm sure the Mods will let it go given some of the garbage that stays up there.

Thanks guys for your thoughts and feedback. Although my main aim was to hopefully pass along a message to the folks that were involved that day I also wanted to recognize what a good community of people fisherman/hunters really are. I have been fortunate enough to come across some fine and caring people when the chips were down and I think Jasmine would have liked that very much. I know that there are among us some real pathetic losers, but I don't include them in my "family." I'm not really expecting anything out of all this except to maybe foster some goodwill that we can pass around.........Peace....

What a horrible tragedy I am very sorry for your family's loss. You will be in my prayers.

It is also very nice of you to acknoweldge those that helped you while still grieving your loss.
