A good friend of mine is turning 70 next month and would really like to go halibut fishing for the first time. For various reasons, Anacortes is the ideal launching site for our group. I'm looking for a charter recommendation with a home port of Anacortes. There will be 5 or 6 of us and we'd like to have a boat to ourselves. I've found a few charters through google that sound good, but if anyone has some personal experience and can recommend a guide, I'd appreciate the help. Thanks.

I do not know of any Halibut guides out of Anacortes for it is not halibut grounds up there, u would need to find a guide in Port Angeles, Sekiu, Neah Bay, La Push, or Westport!!!

Although the coast would probably offer better fishing, leaving from Anacortes will allow us to stay with a friend on Whidbey, it's a shorter distance (from Seattle and the eastside) and there are some of us on the trip that are hoping for some calmer waters than what the coast would offer. A couple of the guides/charters I've found so far offering Halibut out of Anacortes are:
