One ugly Mother of a fish!

Have no idea, as new, previously uncatalogued deep water species keep popping up all the time.

It's got teeth though, so keep it out of your bathtub and away from the rubber ducky!

I would have to agree with supcoop, with the upper teeth protruding out above the jaw and the wrinkles over the fins. Looks like a prop in a cheap horror flick.

I don't see any gill cover (operculum) or indication of gills. Therefore, it's not a fish. I'll go with the Hollywood prop.

A little hush money would go a long ways toward keeping your wife from finding out about your post.

prop. It resembles no known fish. At least anglerfish have related fish that look similar, but than again, nothing really resembles coelacanth either. It looks like resident evil 4 maybe? The Deep Sea Umbrella Project.

They catch those all the time near Long Beach. There's a stuffed one next to the alligator man in the museum.

I'm gonna tell Dave to do up my steelhead like that. That'd be cool to have on the wall.
