Does anyone know when the silvers start showing up in the satsop. If they will even show.

There are some in now but the fishing is a little slow still. I put a 17# buck on the bank saturday. I think more will be in within the next week

I have been thinking about the Satsop. The river level looks ok anybody know how the clarity is? Also is the log jam still in the main drift making drift boat travel impossible without dragging the boat?
Thanks,
Todd

The Satsop is like any other river...with rain it sucks fish in like a magnet but with rain it goes out quickly. There will be fish in the Satsop for the next few months, watch the weather, find a hole in the weather and get there! To wait for a report only allows you to miss the best fishing. All my opinion of course.

I agree Jim! Get out and fish it..even if the rivers coming up it will still fish..With the weather we are having by the time you get a report the river could be pukein...

the satsop is a great "shoulda been here yesterday" river. you really need to be dialed into the weather and river levels to score on that one. on the upside, it keeps a lot of the goons away.

Log jam is out......Land owner got the permits, WDFW watched the process......Land owner paid for all the equipment and the people to run it.

I've not seen it since the work was done.......and who knows how much more "stuff" got washed down........so be careful. Must be some driftboaters out there that have made the float.....???? Maybe 1 of them could help out???

I was sittin at the mouth during the first blowout this year (Oct 1) and there were a lot of logs coming down the river, early in the morning. One was huge, it was impressive.

I am definately going to give it a shot. I usually wait a couple more weeks but with the fist good rain it should have some fish in it.

Timing does seem to matter. From higher high tide at the mouth of the Satsop to the S curves is about 16 hours for the silvers. By the time you're reading about it here, you're at least that much too late, if not more.

I agree with the comments about reading and being to late but the boss seems to think I should be working. I think I'll save the sick days for some steel.
