Have a GL2 STR1086C 9' 10-20 lb test. Only used a few time in excellent condition. Or trade for A Shimano Curado CU-201.

If saleing. $150.00

That's my all-time favorite spoon rod, BTW. I've landed all my big BC steelhead on that rod. \:\)

I did hold a new lami of Bills last week that I fell in love with. It's my next one.

Tim, was it an XMG 50? I built one with the cork handles...but now they offer them with cork from the factory...

Fish on...

That sounds right. I was going to ask him when he got back. It was a grey blank. Killer rod. Same butt end and action as my GL2 STR1086C, but with an additonal foot of tip and for added sensitivity.

Yeah, that's the one...and they are killer blanks. Really light, really powerful, and I like the extra length.

Rvrfshr and I built a couple, he has the 10.5 footer, and I have the 10 footer...'cept I busted mine up north last week. Oops. I'll be rebuilding it, though, as I really like it.

Did his have the carbon fiber handle, or the cork one? We both commented on the carbon fiber handles (didn't want 'em), and hoped for cork handled XMG's from the factory...which they do offer now.

Fish on...

Todd

Cork. Is there another handle material? ;\)

I talked to Posey about it the other day. I'll be calling him about ordering up my Christmas present, soon. \:\)

Yeah, the phone call has to be made to get a new blank so I can get the rebuild started, too...blah.

You'll love the rod, it's lighter than a GL3, and sure seems powerful to me.

Fish on...

GL3...hell, these things are more IMX-like, without the loomis forced pricing. probably tougher, as well.

i really want to build myself an XMG1142LL as a baitcaster(9'6, 4-8) for extra light summer run fishing. the blank weighs less than 1 3/4oz!
