I did this on another site and it was kinda fun to hear what people think. I found these sheds last year while helping a friend with a deer hunt and finally scored them this weekend. I was going to post the results but decided to have some fun with it... What do you think they will score with the standard 40" spread credit given for sheds?

And I am looking for a gross score I will post all stats when the time comes but I am a believer in " if the animal grew it ...you should get credit for it"

And please if you allready saw this on the other hunting site and know the answer let the others play along That means you for sure Tmike. If it helps I am 5' 10" and 185#

Just for fun the story on this one is that while helping a friend I spotted these from about 3/4 of a mile accross a canyon and only saw the top 3pts. of the left antler and thought I was looking at a Mule deer horn. Well while hiking after it I drop my range finder over a cliff and watch it tumble about 250-300 ft. I retrive the peices and get up the other side to discover that my mule deer horn turned into three Elk sheds and this matching pair!
Here is the other one that was in the pile.

The only thing I can think of is that when the time came and those bad boy's wanted them off thier heads they bashed em together and that's where they ended up!

IMO that last shot with you kneeling shows what a stud that bull is. I'm guessing those eyeguards gotta be close to 18" and the seconds over 20"

I'm going to say its mid 300s. I'm guessing 350-360.

I'd give my left nut for an any bull tag and that bull in my sights.

This is what I had guessed also, before I scrolled down and saw your message.

I'll say 372 5/8 . Dandy bull, awesome ones and twos and great girth. That bull may of had a spread of 50". Where were they found? 346 Little Naches?

I thought my first overzealous guess might get the crowd fired up and have them start throwing out some numbers, high ones too. But to no avail. My real guess would be 333 3/8, a real fine animal. Probably found the sheds in the nile by the feeding station. Great find.

Your'e thinking I found them while scouting for my Peaches tag huh? ...No not Little Naches, shoot if I had found these in there I may not have shot my bull going after this one. Oh I saw bigger bulls than the one I shot but I never got my eyeballs on anything like this in the Little Naches. Kid check your PM's. Oh and no not the Nile feeding station not even the same unit these were found out in a somewhat remote canyon I think called notellem creek! ;\)

Scored the third shed last night and it scored out at 141 2/8. Assuming that the other side was even close and with a 40" credit for drops we are looking at a 320 class bull! The bummer is it looks as wide if not wider than the matching pair so will loose another 8-10" so it's possiable it could have been a 330 class on the skull.

At any rate it also easily makes the 125" min.

Oh also re-checked the Wa big game book and it looks like the minimum is acually 135 not 125 but oh welll they both still make it easily.

Well Guys Thanks for playing along it was fun to hear your guesses. Sorry I didn't get to this last night as promised but I got caught up in helping my kids with homework, So here goes ... Our winner with a guess of mid 300's 350-360 is sundaymoney with thrasher holding on to the coattails with the same guess! and right on two counts sort of as you will see with my stats below.

This last pic shows his mass well which really non of these pics do him justice you just have to see it in person. Remember I asked for a gross score fisrt so I'll start there.

I did ask for a true gross cause I am a believer in if the animal grew it you and the critter should get credit for it I guess an SCI type of score.

The Stats:

349 5/8 Gross ... With the 40" drop credit
G-1's, 17 5/8 & 17
G-2's, 20 3/8
If you are a B&C guy
He has 15 5/8 deductsfor a total of:
334 even
And for fun I laid him out as natural as possiable and the way it looks like is on the skull it was between 48-50" wide!
He may have easily been pushing 360 on the hoof!

So SundayMoney/thrasher were closest to the pin with a 40" and most likely the true gross had it been on the animal.
And kid not as far fetched as you thought on that first guess but you may have nailed the true spread.
So I would say all good guesses except for Stam buddie your'e just a bit rusty is all ... just another reason you should get back out there with me! You could use the practice! ;\)
Thanks to all.

Oh also on a side note I will probaly get them offically scored cause the minimum for one side drop in the book is 135 and these score 155 4/8 and 154 1/8 and then I'll mount it, a friend has a cape from Colorado I'll put him on. Looking at him again I can only wonder how close you would have been Kid#10 if his thirds would have carried out the same way as the 1st & 2nd?

That would be cool I'll tell you I have been wanting to do that and I'm sure he would enjoy this pair. I'm sure he thinks I'm a goof I called him this time last year and told him I would bring them by
