That's a gianormas Rainbow but, that fish looks deader than a brick. Note the lack of "Downcast Eye".

First thing I noticed as well.

Looks like it had also drip-dried.

Awesome fish regardless.

First and foremost if this is a "Kenai Rainbow" then it should not have even been removed from the water. The maximum keeper size for a Rainbow on the upper Kenai is 14" (and 15" on the lower Kenai)if I remember correctly. Everything above that must be released.

Dear lord that is a monster bow...
You don't get those @ Beaver Lake or any other triploid stocked lake here in WA.

Awesome fish, but the dead look is the first thing I noticed too. Maybe not, but it sure looks that way.

Here's one more that a buddy sent me four years ago. I believe this one was caught in a research gillnet... talk about sacrificial lambs.

Doc that second picture is taken about 100 yds, if not closer to our dock(fish was probably taken out of our hole). That is Dot's cabin in the background. My guess is that they caught it during the test netting of Coho's they did for the last couple of years, it finally ended last year. I would hate to tell you how many silvers floated down dead after that netting along with the large number of kings they pulled off their beds in August. My guess is the netted a bunch of those rainbows as there are a lot of unfished rainbows in that section.
