Looking to build myself a float rod. Any recommendations on blanks? Spinning vs baitcaster?

I know there have been LOTS of treads on drift rods lately but nothing on float rod choice...

This should help...or confuse the hell out of you with all the opinions and models that are available.

I find myself perpetually scaling down and Spring grants 13+ hrs of daylight to work the water and cast with a vengeance. While relative drift length will dictate the number of pitches accrued,weight/length are factors to consider IMHO.

I've every Loomis float rod to the 12' 3" and a goodly smattering of other offerings within the ilk.

My go to Hammer is the 9' 6" 1141S...light,much backbone, fast tip and easily balanced. Steelhead hate it.

Haven't caught much over a 25 pounder with one and never more than say 50 Coho or so in a day,via 1141S.

I'm on pins and needles awaiting your critique,as I know the humor will be exceptional,as per always.

Allow me to spread a little bait...so as to sweeten the pot.

You've no credit to spare and that is beyond obvious.

28" is about as accurate as your 1141 critique...but alas,it's tough for you to fake experience and that too is glaring.
