Sounds like negotiations with the tribes are working like they usually do.

We are working on finding a location and time that works for everyone probably just after the 4th of July.

Well let's see...........salmon gillnet season 2008, is fast approaching....let the QIN do what they want for another year........heck let's just wait until, all the Chehalis fish are long gone, because of over harvest by the "non-tribal and tribal gill netters", then maybe, some lights will finally start flashing, and changes might take place???????

Fish4brains we never did get to have that meeting and we still want to do it. I'm not sure if you understand the situation I'm in. I am currently the only biologist and fishery manager for the Chehalis Tribe. I would really like to be able to do all of the things that I can to help rebuild the runs for everyone in the Chehalis Basin. I really wanted this meeting to happen and I hope that it will eventually, logistics became an issue last year and the timing that I had in trying to set it up didn't work out with my field schedule. I want to begin to try and work out logistics and plan this better this year perhaps we can meet before the beginning of summer as this time gets really busy. I look forward to hearing from others that would like to be involved in this meeting I have met and discussed the issues with several of the people that were interested from last Spring and I hope I will be able to meet and discuss more of these important issues with other concerned folks. Thanks for bring this topic back to the list so everyone can get involved. my info is aolson@chehalistribe.org or 360-709-1859 please feel free to e-mail or call with your interest, concerns or ideas about how we can all work towards our goal of more fish for future generations.

The Chehalis Sturgeon stock is managed as a part of the Columbia River stock.
