I've always done well with a Banjo Minnow in the crayfish color. Try it out and give us a report.

I used to catch bass there on the west side by the lilly pads. I don't think there are many bass left though.

The pocketfisherman had it's place and time but I like staying current with technology. This setup is much easier to use and Roland endorses it. Awesome setup!

Years ago there was a kid who fished the lake from shore just using crankbaits. I saw him with a stringer full of fish one day and not a fish on the stringer was under 5 lbs. He always kept all of his fish though and several years later I saw him and he couldn't figure out why the fishing wasn't like it used to be. Duh.... It may be a little late in the year now. Best time is to hit them right when they're on their spawning beds and it's always a hit and miss window. There are some hogs in there for sure.

for the greenlake carp go with a doughball under a bobber or on bottom, you can find recipes for the doughballs all over the web....if you hook up get ready to hold on, they fight hard and there are some hogs in there, i've seen 25lb'ers

i'd also recommend going for the musky though, only tried for them once when it was too windy to fish correctly but have heard it can be pretty good

I live near Bitter and fish it when I need a quick fix. It is OK for bass. Largest I've caught there was about 4 lbs this spring will flyfishing a worm pattern. At this time of year, think early or late with topwaters in the pads and around the docks.
Lots of little rock bass in there also.
Haller Lake , which is nearby also has some bass in it.

Hey..regarding the carp fishing in greenlake, what pound test line should i use? it seems like i should be using a salmon pole rather than a trout pole. And do i just put the doughball on a hook and thats it. Or do i need a liter and a swivel and a wait? how is it set up? what size hook too?
sorry for overwhelming you with questions. thanks for the help.

Pheen:

Carp are very strong, and very spooky most of the time. It takes a good deal of finesse to consistently catch carp.

You might try a Google on Carp fishing for some tips, or go to your library and look at back issues of In-Fisherman. They occassinally have articles on carp fishing. And BTW its a rod, not a pole.

Try sites like this for more info. http://www.carpanglersgroup.com/carpingtips.html
