I want in on it too, but reality might set in. I need to see some costs, numbers, etc.

Any chance you can toss some numbers my way Stam or Rick?

I'd love to do the Katmai trip, but I already know that is for high rollers. frown

This would be a great place to do a trip. If you get a chance to request guides go with Tom Westman, Al borchers, Brad Tuffley, or Nick Charles. All the guys know their stuff, but you won't find better company than those guys. They aren't as square as some and won't dig on you all week if you want to throw some spinners instead of flies like a lot of out guys.

I would say fish with me, but I won't be back here next year for sure after today. I can put up with this for only so long, but after I watched the lodge manager ripped open my mail today and take pint of Crown Royal sent up by a girlfriend because it's against the rules I'd won't work for this place again. Forgive me for my tiny bottle 5 days before I go home. It seems like a great excuse to commit a federal crime.
World renowned silvers and trout that time of year guests leave always feeling like it was worth every penny.
Great place to stay.....never work here.

KO

ps. There's no Boos here at all, just beer so BYOB just don't have it sent up.

I was just thinking, if anybody can figure out how to get a boat up here I know a guy who's been guiding this river for a few years that would love to take some guys just to fish for fun. It would be cheep because there would be no guide cost or lodge fees besides getting the boat.

oh, im dumb but most of ya knew that.

yakutat is the bomb imo dollar for dollar the best/cheapest alaska trip you can do, that is if you like a river with 15000 native steelhead, 100lb halibut and big ocean kings in less than 100ft of water, good booze, satellite tv, tasty grub, 18000 foot mtns rising out of the ocean etc...I usually come home with 100 lbs of halibut, 20lbs of king and cnr a buttload of native steel...count me in...cheers

Sol--LMAO, So, is your mind in the gutter or you don't like the base price on the web! Special Package does not mean it comes with a sleeping companion for you. You are way to ugly for the Yakutat girls!

Give me few days and I will post a package and see what you guys think.
If we decide to group up, then you will want to buy your tickets in October when Alaska Airlines runs an employee special and the prices come way down for a month before going back up.
And for those of you going anywhere in Alaska and have miles to use, 20,000 gets you up there for next year, won't get any cheaper than that.

Count me in if the price is in my budget. There has to be some perk for flying as much as I do. smile

Just remember the 20,000 mile tickets will be 40,000 right after the October/November Alaska Airlines special, just don't known when they will do it so keep an eye on their web site to see when the prices drops.
