...would I get a robo call from North Carolina asking me to vote for Elizabeth Dole?

Notwithstanding the fact that I wouldn't vote for her even if I could, it seems odd to waste money making phone calls to the 206 area code when I'm about 3000 miles away from her district.

Anyone else received any weird robos like that?

I recieved a call from some little old lady from poulsbo.

She claimed to be calling from the Republican National Headquarters. Briefly entertaining her it turned out she was going thru the phone book randomly calling people.

Telling them to vote for McCain't (save America)

The "Why" Todd, is that they get paid for every call made and they've just got hours left to crank that money machine.

Can't wait till it's all done and over with. Arguing with the in-laws, stupid commercials, wasted paper in the mailbox, etc. Let it be done!

I can see some of that, but due to an absolutely disastrous campaign, both in strategy and execution, Libby Dole is about to be the ex-Senator from N.Carolina...seems to me that there are plenty of folks in NC who can actually legally vote for her that ought to be getting these annoying phone calls.

To be serious for a minute...Dole is fighting for her job, and might lose it, and her campaign is spending money calling me? It would be ridiculous enough if I lived in Charleston and she called me...but Seattle?
