I bet just about *everyone* gets seasick out in Dutch.
I bet I would - probably the first day or two. But like you said, I would almost bet I'd get over it and focus on the task at hand.

I can't imagine going below deck and scarfing down 6 eggs over easy and glass of butter milk would help either.....

I have found that no meds work with me. But I can offer a plan B. Just drink a load of Jack Daniels the night before you go out and that way you can tell everyone you are hung over.....not sea sick. Worked for me in Alaska.....right Bob?

There are 3 things for me to garantee I don't get sick. (1) get the patch, (2) drink so much water in the 3 days before that you are flowing constantly and(3) got to get that good nights sleep. If I get those 3 in I never get sick. If I miss one of them, a little queasy, more than 1, downright pukin'!

I had a friend who was a deckhand on a charter out of Westport , he would never pack a lunch for himself but would get the lunch of whomever got sick. If nobody was sick he would wait till the most likely looking one was looking his way and he would start chewing on a herring, worked most of the time.

Pretend to be a man if you get sick, puke over the side of the boat, apologize to anyone who had to witness, and get back to fishing. Patches and pills are for puscies.

Thanks for the suggestions, sounds like the patch is the most popular, but the promethazine (phenergan) that Irie1 mentioned sounds interesting, but if Oregonian is right I guess I will have to sit when I have to tinkle.

The other thing to remember when using these types of meds is #1 stay hydrated and #2 ease back on the alcohol consumption the night before the trip. In other words, don't get wicked hammered the night before the trip. That's the best advice on here. If your hung over and de-hydrated you'll get sick every time no matter how much time you spend in the Ocean! ... thus why I guide the river and not the salt. I've got a buddy who gets seasick everytime out on my drifter. One of the funniest damn things I've ever seen.
