Hey everyone,

Was reading comments on Cabelas fishing tackle and I found a big turn around since my last trip just after they opened. Well I dropped in just to check to see if they had any goods in their bargain cave and found that they have been listening to someone. I had one of their staff members i think his name was Jesse, show me around and pointed out to me all the new gear. They do have RVRFSHR spinners, spoons, and jig hooks. They got in the new silver horde uv coho killers (which i had to grab some to tease a few buddies who got some on order elsewhere hehe! Mad River Worms, ez eggs, Point wilson darts (price was a little high but guess they are working on it). Lighted wiggle warts and the larger orginal warts like for Drano. I also learned that they are getting in Drennan floats, and my favorite little cork floats soon. Better late then never. They even had Gamakatsu and Vision hundred pack hooks, Vision drop swivels. These are just a few items that I saw. I am actually amazed that a midwest store can learn a thing or two about how we actually fish out here. may now have to start spending money there on tackle vs having to spend the gas traveling to Bob's in Longview. Hope they keep bringing in more of the local goodies.

Like I said before, they're working on it...hopefully they'll have even more PNW stuff next month.

Fish on...

Me being a fatass and all I have been thankful for Cabelas for a long time for my hunting clothes and waders. Was down weekend before last and found it much improved from my earlier visits in the way of fishing gear. They even had the $999.99 large screen Lowrance GPS/depth finder for $699.99. Wish I would of waited. Hope they weather the storm better than Joe's, Sportsmans, Glacier bay, North River, Olympic Boat centers and now Boaters world.
Try to support the ones you like boys and girls.

After they opened, there was a lot of bitching on this website about Cabelas and the lack of NW fishing gear. I emailed the PP link to the vice president of merchandising, and he was very appreciative of the feedback and promised to work on improving tackle for the NW.

SHIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTT only took em a year and a half to do this, I dont really think they are forward thinking by there lack of action on this. They should have had all those products in there the day they opened.

Peace
Fly

How are the prices? It seemed like when I went there the prices were a little high.

They can get rid of the bill fish tackle, but they better keep the tuna gear up to date.Like fly said they should have done all the research and had the right stuff during the "GRAND OPENING" / CHRISTMAS time when they opened up.Good luck,
STRIKE ZONE

9 times out of 10 the store doesn't have what I want and I end up ordering it on-line and having it @ my door step in 3-5 day's."WHAT UP" I'd rather stop in and get it on my way by and see the items in person versus a magazine.I guess they only have so much room to carry so much product.Mostly talking about waders and rain gear more then any thing.

Though it takes a while for the information to get down the pipeline, tell the folks there what you want...they are trying to get whatever they get enough requests for, but it takes a while to work its way through their system.

Fish on...
