Hey guys I was wondering if I could get some help/advice on here...

Im planning to camp/backpack/fly fish on the OP with a buddy of mine from college (U of Montana) for break from the 29th to the 3rd or later. We are hoping to tie into some steel if we can, we both have limited steelheading experience but a wealth of fly fishing experience and don't expect to catch much but it would be pretty cool to do so.
Ive got a 7 weight 9' rod with floating line and jim teeny sink tip as well as a 13'3" spey rod with skagit line/sink tips that i'm just learning to cast (gift from christmas)....So I was hoping some of u could point me in the right direction as to rivers that might offer some decent fishing for the wade fisher or some remote coastal streams that we might hike into and camp out for a few days and fish (although I dont expect many to give up their hidden gems any help would be much appreciated) and maybe some tactics that work this time of year (swingin wets/leeches, indicator, other)

Thanks for your time guys

Pick a river out there that is open and find some access and go from there. Not to hard to find access on the rivers if your willing to walk more than 50 feet.

As for tactics on the fly rod I would not be the best guy to ask because i have yet to catch one on a fly. The 7 wt might be a bit light for a big native out that way though. Good luck out there and let us know how your travels went.

Bring the Teeny. T200 or 300 will work, Like KK said hit the upper reaches of the River of your choice. Your seven weight will work, but you may be under gunned on the big Nates over there. Stick to swinging this time of year IMO. I had some good luck last sunday swinging the Black and Purp Alaska boo's. 0 for 2 on steel, and 4 for 4 on Dollies. Good Luck.

Beads? That is the silliest thing I have ever heard. They are going to have to change the name of this forum to Fins, Feathers, and plastic. Jeez.

Considering I've seen OP's Pics of Fat Steel . Also with a heading like, "The Golden Boy" I would listen to him. Plus I think he fishes with a guy named Danny, whom I am somewhat related to in a second marriage cousin's brothers kinda way. Any ways I'd go with OP"s recommendations.
