Good idea Redd_Daetona,

I'll start off this new thread with my most favorite way of preparing a pink or chum:

Take your pink or chum and remove the eggs out of the carcass.

Pour yourself a fine glass of good IPA beer.

Get a shovel and dig a hole in your garden. Place the pink or chum carcasses in the hole and cover the hole.

Drink another glass of the IPA.

Cure up the eggs in UEC.

Easy. Simple. Perfect!

I would follow a similar recipe for pink and chum unless I have a pot soaking for dungies. Then the siad pink or chum get boiled in the dungies belly before being removed in the shell during cleaning.
Then careful late night placement in a friends trash can of said remains in hopes of hot days ahead for proper marination. He takes care of them after that.
Be sure to lock truck after this recipe or clean up can be a b_.

Just put enough teriyaki sauce on it, close your eyes, and imagine you're eating "tender" chicken.

de-egged, delivered to a cooler near you. I will be making free Humpy deilvery's this August... Last year I unloaded 24 de-egged Humpy's on one guy. I actually have a smoking recipe that works pretty darn good for pink and chum, I know one guy that prefers the smoked chum even over a quality smoked king.

If one needs to bonk pinks or chums just for fertilizer & Egg's.They may need to get out more often as there have alway's been enough coho and kings caught to keep the egg supply up to standards.Just a thought.

I'm usually to exhausted to clean humpies after the 10 sec fight they give you off the beach.
A quick release for all slim rockets and chumlies for me.

I'm not a big fan of eating chums either... but I smoked a chrome buck from the Nisqually this last December and it was really good! Probably also due to the fact that it started freezing up right after I bonked it and set it in the snow.

Chrome humpies caught outta the salt... smoked up and given away keeps my neighbors happy.

I have a pretty good recipe for smoking up Pink's and chummies. Those two species have always served as a great way to win over supervisors, new neighbors, and unfriendly inlaw's smile
I let them know that they are enjoying a "speciality" PNW smoked salmon wink

Yeah, spread the word. Pinks are terrible eating, don't even bother fishing for them.

Same goes for san jaun islands deer

Except instead of the eggs you just keep the hide and tail for fly tying

You also need the whole six pack because you have to dig a bigger hole
